Sunshine Dizon is Margaret Sunshine Cansancio Dizon-Tan, born to her parents Isagani Bengzon Dizon and Dorothy Cansancio Dizon. She started her acting career when she was only three years old. Her mother was also a producer of films and TV programs that time and she saw the passion and talent of the little Sunshine in the field of acting. When she was shooting the movie “Kung Kasalanan Man” with Dina Bonnevie, there was a particular scene wherein she was in the airport and supposed to be flying to the United States. That scene was real since she and her mom are scheduled to follow his Dad in the US that very same day. She was only 6 years by then and she spent her 7th birthday there.

Sunshine Dizon grew up to be a very smart kid. She took the entrance examination at the St. Joseph College where she ranked third in the entrance examinations. Although she doesn’t know how to read and write, she tricked the teacher to read to her the test for the reason that she left her glasses. Her mother was surprised how she managed to be in the top three. The only time it was discovered that she actually cannot read is when she was asked to read a phrase from a book.

Several offers began to come her way which her mother refused because of her studies. When she reached Grade two, she had to transfer to Sunny Hill. Her schedules are divided between studies and career, but despite of the difficulty, she managed to stay as an honor student. She is supposed to graduate with honors when she graduated from elementary but a parent complained of her absences.

“God’s Little Children” was Sunshine first movie. She also did “Hindi Pa Tapos Ang Laban,” and “Kahit Butas Ng Karayom Papasukin Ko,” both with Fernando Poe Jr. wherein she was awarded her first acting trophy from FAMAS as Best Child Actress. Regular TV shows such as the “Bubble Gang” and “That’s Entertainment” are some of the programs where Sunshine had appeared.

Growing to be a teenager made Sunshine display more her talents and skills as an actress. Viva productions launched her as a teenage actress together with Antonette Taus and Kim Delos Santos, Dingdong Dantes, Polo Ravales and Dino Guevarra on the television series “Anna Karenina”. The show was a big hit making them the hottest teenage stars of their time. The group later joined “TGIS” and other teenybopper films were all blockbusters such as “Honey, My Love, So Sweet” in 1999 and “Kiss Mo Ko” in 1999.

Today she is happily married to Timothy Tan and the marriage bore them two children Doreen Isabelle and Antonio. Her husband approved her to make her comeback in her showbiz career but she is limited to work for several hours. Sunshine’s priority is now her family, and this gave her the highest award of her life.
