Jericho Vivar Rosales also nicknamed Echo was born in Quezon City, Philippines on September 22, 1979. He was a contender in Eat Bulaga’s Mr Pogi 1996. His triumph on the contest was his passport to Philippine show business. He is now one of the established names of young actors in the field of television and movies. Aside from acting, Echo has also proven his talent and skills in music as a singer and songwriter. Echo finished his secondary education at New Era University. During Echo’s free time, he loves surfing, shooting and photography.
His first project as an actor was in a primetime series, Esperanza with Angelika dela Cruz and in Oka Tokat, a teen horror flick film. His career took off when he was paired withKristine Hermosa and taking up the lead role in Pangako Sa ‘Yo. The success of their tandem resulted to two blockbuster films, Forevermore and Ngayong Nandito Ka. He was starred in another primetime series Sanay Wala Nang Wakas with Angelika Dela Cruz and Diether Ocampo. He also starred in Carlo J. Caparas’ Ang Panday, an epic fantasy series which he performed alongside Heart Evangelista, Victor Neri and Derek Ramsay.
Among other movie and TV appearances he took part in are Pangarap na Bituin with Sarah Geronimo, Rica Paralejo and Maja Salvador; a guest appearance in I Love Betty La Fea; Dahil May Isang Ikaw which reunited their tandem with Kristine Hermosa and co-starred with Gabby Concepcion, Chinchin Gutierrez, Karylle and Lorna Tolentino; Green Rose with Anne Curtis and Dahil Sa Pagibig with Piolo Pascua. The most recent project that he participated in was Against All Odds and Maalaala Mo Kaya: Tsinelas.
Jericho Rosales is also a famous face in Malaysia. He was especially acclaimed in his performance in Pacquiao: The Movie aired in 2006. In the same year, Echo was able to release his first album together with the band he formed, “Jeans”. EMI Company in Malaysia was a great help in his music career when they released his album Loose fit. Indeed, he is a multi-talented artist. All 14 songs found in the album are his originals.
