Known in real life as Richard Kristian Rama-Gutierrez, Richard Gutierrez comes from a family of celebrities with a Spanish and Filipino blood. He was born in Beverly Hills California on January 21, 1984 and he is a television action as well as a model. His father is Eduardo “Eddie” Gutierrez who is a popular Filipino veteran actor and his mother Annabelle Rama is a talent manager in the showbiz industry. He has a twin names Raymond and other siblings namely Ruffa Gutierrez, an actress and brothers Rocky, Elvis and Ritchie Paul Gutierrez. His family is known in the world of show business with his controversial mother and popular sister Ruffa always on the limelight of controversies and scandals in the previous years. Even his half brothers on the father’s side, Tonton Gutierrez and Ramon Christopher are also actors.
His first television appearance was in Click and subsequently made several other appearances on GMA 7’s teleserye Habang Kapiling Ka, Mulawin, Codename: Asero, Lupin, Sugo, Kamandag, Captain Barbell and Full House with more lead roles in the latter ones. His budding career started when he was a child and made some movie appearances with his actors father and brother. One of the challenges in Richard’s career was when he was charged for reckless imprudence resulting to homicide which resulted in the death of his production assistant Norman Pardo while he was driving his car in 2009. The car accident resulted in injuries to Richard while Pardo died immediately on the spot.
He also starred in various movies since 1987 mostly from Regal Films, Seiko Films and GMA Films. Among the popular movies he appeared on are Lahing Pikutin, Takbo, Tili, Talon, Feel na Feel, I Will Survive, Mulawin: The Movie, Mano Po 5, My Bestfriend’s Girlfriend, My Monster Mom, When I Met You, Seduction, and My Lady Boss. He was nominated as a Child Best Actor in his movie Takbo.. Tili.. Takbo! In 1998. Richard was able to get several nominations from various prestigious awards and won some of them including the Golden Screen TCC Award, PMPC Star Awards for Television, FAMAS Awards, German Moreno Youth Achievement Award and Box Officer Entertainment Award. Richard is also busy managing the Iced Out Productions which he put up with his other brothers Elvis, Raymond and Ritchie Paul.
