The real name of Jolina Magdangal is Maria Jolina Perez Magdangal. She was born on November 6, 1978 in St. Luke’s Hospital, in Quezon City, Philippines to parents Generoso “Jun” Magdangal Jr., and Paulette Perez-Magdangal. She has a sister and one brother namely Melanie and Jonathan respectively. Jolina was auditioning for Ryan Cayabyab’s group, 14K when she was discovered. She is a Filipina actress, singer, host, and entrepreneur. She was considered as a pop icon because of her unique fashion statements, music and attitude towards work. Jolina first joined the showbiz industry through the children and teenage oriented show in ABS-CBN entitled “Ang TV,” which showcased her contemporaries such as Claudine Barretto, Jan Marini and a whole lot more. 1990’s were the years that highlighted Jolina’s acting career. She starred in “Gimik,” a weekend afternoon show opposite loveteam Marvin Agustin. That was in the years 1997-2000.
Their team was one of the accepted and well-loved in the history of Philippine entertainment. ‘Labs ko si Babes,” was the last TV show she had done at ABS-CBN and “Arriba –Arriba,”a Saturday comedy show where she was given the lead role. She was as popular as can be and her business is also doing well. Her other TV shows include, “Abangan Ang Susunod Na kabanata,” “Sang Linggo NaPo Sila,” Onli In Da Pilipins,” “ASAP,”and “Richard Loves Lucy.” She was given her first break in the movies via “Hataw Na,” where she displayed his singing and dancing skills.
