Kaye Abad, a Filipino-American actress is Katherine Grace Cosme Abad in real life. Born May 17, 1982 in Easton, Pennsylvania, USA, she was raised in Imus, Cavite and is the eldest in the brood of three.
Kaye Abad is the sister of then child star Sarah Jane Abad-Contreras (now wife of Kamikazee lead singer, Jay Contreras).
Kaye Abad is a member of ABS-CBN’s Star Magic. She was also launched as a member of the Star Circle, now Star Magic 3, in 1993. She started show business joining the cast of Ang TV OK!and was notably paired to John Lloyd Cruz in the long-time TV series Tabing Ilog which co-stars Jodi Sta. Maria, Baron Geisler, Paolo Contis, Paula Peralejo, Patrick Garcia, and Desiree del Valle. Aside from Tabing Ilog , which ran from 1999 to 2003 on Philippine television, Kaye also appeared in different numerous teen-oriented films and television shows.
After being invisible from show business for some time, she made a comeback appearance in 2009 in television’s Precious Hearts Romance Presents: Bud Brothers. Kaye was able to get the role which was originally intended for Roxanne Guinoo as Guji Lorenzana’s love interest. Guji and Kaye were given the lead roles on the third part of Precious Hearts Romances.
Kaye Abad recently played a supporting role in ABS-CBN’s afternoon program, Angelito: Batang Ama and its sequel Angelito: Ang bagong Yugto, both with JM de Guzman as lead actor.
Kaye was known to have dated Parokya ni Edgar’s lead singer, Chito Miranda but eventually called their relationship off in 2009.
Kaye Abad also appeared in various television shows such as Kaybol: ang Bagong TV,Gimik, Mula Sa Puso, Oka Tokat!, Maalala Mo Kaya (in 10 different episodes), Tara Tena: Steps To The Heart, Sa Dulo ng Walang Hanggan, Wansapanataym, Super Inggo, Soer Inggo 1.5, May Bukas Pa, Precious Hearts Romances Presents: Bud Brothers, Precious Hearts Romances Presents: Somewhere In My Heart, Rubi, Showtime, precious Hearts Romances Presents: Alyna, Angelito: Ang Batang Ama, Lorenzo’s Time, Angelito: Ang Bagong Yugto, and Annaliza. She also took part in the movies like Ang TV : The Movie, Flames: The Movie, Nagbibinata, Mahal Na Kung Mahal, Gimik The Reunion, Mila, Batas ng Lansangan, Kung Ikay Ay Isang Panaginip, Ang Tanging Ina, My Amnesia Girl (cameo role), Ang Tanging Ina Mo (Last Na ‘To), and Quija 2 where she portrayed the role of a White Lady.
She also earned recognition by winning as First Runner-Up for Best Actress in 1998 Asian TV Awards. Kaye made her men’s magazine debut when she posed in a red bikini on Maxim Philippines’ September 2006 issue. To prove that she has now matured, she also posed as FHM Cover Girl on the said magazine’s June 2012 issue. Though she admitted that she was really nervous at first for the FHM pictorial, she was relieved when she saw good results in her pictures. Kaye is also a product endorser of RDL Baby Face. She was also featured in Nestle Philippines’ Sine Kasambahay mini-film series entitled “Unplugged” with Eddie Garcia and Marvin Agustin as her co-stars.
