Renee Rosario McHugh was born in 1988 and a Filipina beauty title holder and a commercial fashion model in the Philippines. She got the title Miss Philippines Air 2010 in the tenth edition of the Miss Philippines Earth Beauty Pageant. Just like any other winner, her duties include as one of the spokesperson of the Pageant, under the Miss Earth Foundation, an outreach arm, representing environmental issues and promoting a green and clean environment. She represented the USA East Coast Filipino Community in the Pageant.
Renee studied at Woodbridge High School, and an active student. She loved sports, joining the track and field and was the former captain of the school’s cheering team. Aside from this beauty contest, she had also joined various pageants and became first runner up in the 2008 Miss Teen Philippines-USA Search, 2008 Top Five’s Prettiest, 2008 Most Promising Model, 2009 Ms. Philippines-USA Tourism and 2009 Mutya Ng Pilipinas East Coast, and a semi-finalist and Photographers Choice in the Mutya Ng Pilipinas Pageant.
Her parents were Christopher McHugh and Rosario Aquino of Tarlac, Philippines. Renee strongly agrees that beauty pageants do not stand for beauty alone but more than just physical appearance, a woman should also depict a strong character, with firm convictions, and should also play an important part in molding the youth. Further, she believes that pageants should also be a channel to organize events that will benefit the needy, the poor especially the homeless children.
After fulfilling her duties and responsibilities as an ambassadress for the environment, Renee had been involved in various environmental concerns and projects in the country. Most of the work is spending time educating people about environmental concerns and how to protect and preserve Mother Earth.
Renee was also selected to officially chaperone in the concluded Miss Earth Pageant in Vietnam and she cherished the chance to work with more than eighty pretty women from different parts of the world. She had the opportunity to know what and how an international beauty contest is being handled and organized. Renee had also the chance to react and interact with a lot of nationalities. This was a memorable and learning experience for her.
She had already finished her reign but still continues to be involved in community projects and environmental concerns. Renee also dreams of joining the showbiz industry soon and maybe venture into the lingerie designing as her personal business.
Renee McHugh was only 18 years old when she joined the competition and won. She stands 5’7” and body measurement is 34-24-24. Renee is a Filipina-American and she was working as a Customer Service Associate way back before joining the contest. Renee reveals that she loves organic foods that well compliment the intention of the pageant. She grew up and was raised by a single mother and this was one of the major reasons that gave her the inspiration and determination to project the modern Filipina. Strong, confident and decisive Renee is deserving to win her title and up to now she lives up to the expectations of the pageant.
