Megan has a younger sister, which is also working as a Filipino actress namely, Lauren Young. She was also one of the VJ’s of Channel V, Philippine edition.
Although Megan made it to the top six in the reality search “Starstruck,” her career did not take off right away. Projects for her were scarce and she would often land in roles that have brief exposures, playing as an antagonist, villain, bitch or anything unpleasant. This is when she decided to follow her sister to ABS-CBN, who was then a part of Star Magic Circle 13.
Megan has been studying Digital Film making at the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde. In person, she reveals that she likes to talk, which is maybe one of the reasons she can be a good talk show host. She also is fond of reading and even loves the Harry Potter series. She’s just an ordinary sweet lady when not busy with her schedules, and doing then usual girl things. She admits her secret dream which she wants to fulfill someday: to be an editor of a fashion magazine.
Before she entered the PBB house, she prepared herself like sleeping alone and doing simple chores at home. She was eventually nicknamed ‘The Princess of Charm,” because she relies everything to someone who does chores for her. At her young age, she believes she still has a lot more room to grow and learn what life really is. Although, Megan did not make it with the PBB winners because she was evicted, she learned to accept things beyond her control. Her appearance in ‘Kokey,” wherein she played the role of Shane made her popular.
Megan is lucky to be a co-star in TV5’s newest teleserye entitled “Misibis Bay,” which had their few weeks of shooting in a beachfront in one of the paradise island in Albay, Philippines. She revealed that she had to sacrifice some appointments and jobs in Manila, and sometimes had to leave in the middle of the tapings for urgent deadlines at school. She is just so thankful that her classmates are all understanding and supportive of her.
Megan Young is actually an inspiration to young women out there, blessed with a work yet she makes it a point not to miss school no matter what the circumstances are. She hopes to finish her course in and someday be equally successful in her career as an actress.
