His real name is Rogel Kyle Carino Jr, popularly called Bugoy Carino, and he was a member of the dance group Higher Level at the age of 5. Bugoy is a contestant in Star Circle Quest: Search For the Kiddie Idol shown over ABS-CBN, in which he won the grand prize. He may still be too young, yet Bugoy has already talked wisely like a grown-up man who can discuss about his career and fulfillments in his life.
He had already bagged five awards, which included a Best Supporting Actor Award for “Alagwa,” given at the 1st Asean International Film Festival and Awards in Malaysia. He said he was happy and did not really expect he will win an award because there are many veteran actors and actresses nominated in the said event.
His favorite actors are Vhong Navarro, Coco Martin and Jericho Rosales, and he shares his experiences as a young actor. He had some tips for those aspiring new kids who also want to try joining the industry. Bugoy puts himself seriously in any role he is given, may it be good or bad, whatever is the role he says, always be prepared and study how it should be done. The lines are also important, because you need to internalize and understand before you can deliver it perfectly. It also helps if the actors you work with are very supportive and also effective. Bugoy regards his work seriously but he doesn’t think that showbiz is taking his childhood away from him. He plays and bonds with other young actors like him during spare time. He had also learned how to invest his hard earned money, investing in a van and he is building a six bedroom house for the family. Bugoy is happy that he can help support the needs of the family, especially his siblings who are yet going to school. He has appeared in so many TV shows in ABS-CBN and he even starred in “E-Boy,” which officially launched him as a child star.
In an interview, he was asked if he wants to be a big star someday, but what he actually dreamt is that he can only see himself in the television set, and he ended up enjoying his acting career. He appeared in several shows such as “Goin’ Bulilit,” “Agimat Presents: Tiagong Akyat,” “Kulilits,” “George and Cecil,” “Imortal,” “A Beautiful Affair,” “100 Days to Heaven,” and 20 episodes in “Wansapataym.” He has also starred in movies such as “I’ll Be There,” “Shake, Rattle and Roll 13: Tamawo,” and “Alagwa,” where he received an award.
