Victor Basa is Victor Emmanuel Basa in real life and was born on June 6, 1985 in Pasig City, Philippines. He is a Filipino actor, commercial model and host and dreams to be a musician someday. He loves skateboarding, swimming, wall climbing and ice hockey. Victor is also into charity, actively participating in the “Ahon Sa Kalye Ministries.” He is a second of three siblings of one younger brother and older sister. Although he appears to be almost perfect and ideal for everyone, he also had his share of imperfections. It was only at a tender age of 10 when he discovered that he was a part of an illegitimate family. He was used to seeing his father occasionally, and it didn’t even cross his mind why his father does not stay in their house often enough. Even so, they lived quite comfortably for quite some time until his father died. They had no more financial support and had to learn to earn for their own.
Victor also joined the Philippine search for the best model of the world and won the “Best in Swimwear,” award. He had appeared in different television commercial ads for a cracker and a clothing brand to his name. His fame heightened when he became a model for “Penshoppe,” in 2005. It was that fateful moment when he was 19 that he was discovered at the Mega Designer’s Competition that opened the opportunity for him in his showbiz career and the modeling world. Soon after, he worked as an ABS-CBN’ Star Magic talent and began appearing in various TV shows such as “Crazy For You,” and “Abt Ur Luv,” opposite Toni Gonzaga and Luis Manzano. Victor was finally launched as a member of the ASAP Coverboys.
Despite all the fame and all these achievements, Victor Basa remains a quiet, shy-type guy. Victor Basa even joined in one of the biggest reality TV show in the Philippines, “The Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Edition 2.” In 2007, he also joined MTV Philippines as one of the VJ’s.
Victor is currently in the cast of “My Husband’s Lover,” playing a challenging role of a gay person. Asked if how does Divine Lee, her girlfriend, a model socialite reacts to this, he said she is supportive of the character he plays. Victor reveals that before he got the role, he had also auditioned and had a screen test. Lucky enough, the producer/director kind of like his performance, thus he was given the role of David. Grateful and excited, Victor is just taking things one day at a time and happy for what the GMA is doing for his career.
However, there are some who disagree about this TV show, including some of the Catholic personalities. But Victor says, “this is already a reality and happening around us.” He is just an actor and portraying what is expected of him. Hopefully, viewers will fully understand the concept of the story and will come to realize that there is depth in the entirety of the plot.
