Born December 23, 1961 in Concepcion, Tarlac, Victoria Lorna Aluquin also known as Lorna Tolentino or just plain L.T., is the daughter of Amado Aluquin and Eloisa Perez. L.T., as people in the show business fondly call her, is the first cousin of actress and TV host Amy Perez and niece to actor Jerry Pons. She is the wife of the late actor Rudy Fernandez, whom she has two children Ralf and Renz who also joined show business in recent years. Lorna is also stepmother to actor Mark Anthony Fernandez, Rudy’s son to sexy actress Alma Moreno. During her early years, Lorna attended her elementary and high school at Saint Anthony School. She also took up Bachelor of Arts and went to three different colleges: St. Paul College in Quezon City, University of Sto. Tomas, and Maryknoll College.
Lorna Tolentino entered showbiz at an early age. She made her first appearance in the 1970’s movie, My Little One of Prima Productions where she used the screen name of Giselle. She also played the young Susan Roces on the movie Divina Gracia in 1970. Her first starring role was in Langit sa Piling Mo with actor Eddie Garcia.
Because of her acting prowess, Lorna is considered as one of the Grandslam actresses in Philippine Cinema together with superstar Nora Aunor, Star for all seasons Vilma Santos, and megastar Sharon Cuneta. She made at least 60 movies to date. Among the films which earned her awards and recognition are: Narito Ang Puso Ko (1993)-Grandslam Best Actress/FAMAS Best Actress/FAP Best Actress/Gawad Urian Best Actress/Star Awards Best Actress; Katas ng Saudi (2008)-FAMAS Best Actress/ENPRESS Golden Screen Awards Best Actress; Abakada Ina (2002)-FAP Best Actress/FAMAS Best Actress; Lumuha Pati Anghel (1971)-FAMAS Best Child Actress; Sa ‘Yo Lamang (2010)-FAP Best Actress; Luksong Tinik (2000)-MFF Best Actress; and Maging Akin Ka Lamang (1988)-FAP Best Actress/Star Awards Best Actress. She also won Best Actress in Star Awards for TV for her performance in Hanggang Kailan, Kaytagal kangHinintay, and Magpakailanman. Lorna was also six times winner for Female Star of the Night and five times winner for Miss RP Movies. She also garnered 20 nominations which were mostly Best Actress in FAMAS.
She also had numerous drama series like TV5’s Valiente and Glamorosa; ABS-CBN’s Minsan Lang Kita IIbigin, Momay, Dahil may Isang Ikaw, May Bukas Pa, and Kaytagal Kang Hinintay; GMA Network’s Zaido: Pulis Pangkalawakan, Now and Forever, Sugo, Darna, Hanggang Kailan, Liwanag ng Hatinggabi, and her latest soap, Pahiram ng Sandali with Dingdong Dantes and Christopher de Leon. She also appeared in RPN’s 1977 Darna. Lorna also hosted shows such as ABS-CBN’sReady, Get, Set, Go!;GMA Network’sAll About You, Startalk, 30 Days, and even co-hosted Negosyete. She acted as judge in TV5’s reality artista search, Artista Academy hosted by actor Cesar Montano and served as a council for Starstruck: The Next Level.
Aside from being an actress, Lorna Tolentino is also a movie producer. Some of the movies she produced were Hula Mo, Huli Ko, Itataya Ko Ang Buhay Ko, Matimbang Pa Sa Dugo, Kamay ni Kain, Kislap Sa Dilim, Kahit Buhay Ko, and Kaaway ng Batas.
