Joseph Bitangcol was born on March 28, 1984 in Pampanga, Philippines. He is a Filipino television and movie actor who started his career when he joined the reality talent search entitled Star Circle Quest in 2004 and made it to the top 10. Unfortunately, he was not included in the final 5 finalists. This paved the way for him to become a member of Star Magic Circle also under the management of ABS-CBN. He was then included as one of the stars in the horror-fantasy series entitled “Spirits,” under the direction of Chito Rono. Joseph was then paired with another Sandara Park in 2005, under Star Cinema entitled “D’ Lucky Ones,’ under Star Cinema. Sandara Park used to be his girlfriend but they parted ways when she went back to Singapore.
When his contract under ABS-CBN expired, he transferred and signed exclusively on the rival station GMA 7 and was included in the TV series “Babangon Ako’t Dudurugin Kita.” In another, TV drama series ‘Saan Darating Ang Umaga,” he had a special participation opposite Yasmien Kurdi, also in GMA 7. He was eventually cast in the indie movie “Walang Kawala” with actor Polo Ravales under DMB Entertainment Inc.
“May Bukas Pa,” marked his return to ABS-CBN in 2009. There were various guest appearances in different TV shows which followed the TV series. Joseph also dubbed Prince Zardoz in Voltes 5: Evolution. Joseph had experienced being seriously hurt in a vehicular accident in Antipolo sometime ago. He and his five companions were sideswiped by a 10-wheeler truck which caused them to crash. They were immediately rushed to the nearest hospital. The driver of the truck was caught and denied that he was allegedly driving fast which caused the accident. Because of what happened, he had developed some kind of trauma.
It has been only lately that he was again in the headlines for a certain highway incident that caused him embarrassment. He was found parked on a highway and sleeping with his pants down, he admitted that he was too tired to drive and just took a little rest and get some sleep. But somebody took his picture and uploaded it in the web to his surprise. He was not on drugs, he says and he just had a little drink in a friend’s birthday.
Joseph learned his lessons and promised the next time to be extra careful in whatever he does. He is just so thankful that he had passed every challenge that he had encountered. Joseph had been so blessed that he had been given another chance of celebrating his life with his friends and family. He realized who his real friends are in times he needed help the most. Joseph hopes that he will be given more opportunities not only to financially help him and his family but to improve his acting skills as well.
