Wendy Valdez was born on June 2, 1982, and is famous for being a Pinoy Big Brother housemate, which is one of the biggest reality search talent show aired over ABS-CBN network. She is also a beauty title holder, a Filipina actress and model by profession. She was born and grew up in Navotas, Rizal, Philippines. In the attempt to help alleviate her family’s financial situation, she had appeared in a few commercials and even tried to work in Japan. This was also the reason why she opted to audition in Pinoy Dream Academy and improve their standard of living. Unfortunately she only ranked 38th.
Wendy joined the Binibining Pilipinas in 2005 and got the 1st runner-up award in the Pageant. Gionna Cabrera won the title as Binibining Pilipinas Universe, Carlene Aguilar as Binibining Pilipinas World and Precious Lara Quigaman as Binibining Pilipinas International. Inside the PBB house, she was branded as the “bad girl,” and had developed a relationship with another housemate named Bruce Quebral. Wendy displayed her real personality in the reality show and also learned from the experience. Although she was considered as the most hated girl in the house, she proved that she can turn the negative side to her advantage.
Wendy attended school in Far Eastern University and earned her degree in Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication in 2007. After the PBB reality show, she and Bruce decided to get married in 2009, but separated four months after the wedding. She admitted that it was a very impulsive decision they made, being only in a relationship for a year. They both agreed that was a mistake of not thinking first before deciding. The realization came when Bruce was already working as a flight attendant in Dubai. He only had to go home one to three times in a span of three months. That was a difficult time for the newly weds because they still need to learn and adjust to a married life. But having a long distance affair is not their cup of tea, and Wendy is not also amenable of staying in Dubai. In fairness to Bruce, he had done everything to save the marriage only that Wendy is not ready to give up everything she’s doing in the country. She just wants somebody who is always there and meet her needs.
She then had a short on and off relationship with an actor-model, Will Devaughn, but eventually broke up. Recently, Wendy became a born again Christian. She was able to mellow down and focus on her acting career peacefully by the grace of the Lord. She is still visible in her acting and modeling, but she is doing things with a more purpose and a direction. Wendy says she is more patient now and is willing to wait for the right guy at the right time. At present, she is just enjoying a single life without any commitment, and even her mother approves of her decision.
Blessings still come her way through ABS-CBN. Wendy is grateful that even though she had finished her contract with the network, she is still given some projects once in a while like the “Little Juan,” shown every afternoon on ABS-CBN. She’s happy and fulfilled as a person and just prays that everything will come in God’s time. She is taking her break from sexy roles for a while, because she still praying where God would really put her.
