Chosen as one of the Final Four in StarStruck Batch 3, Gian Carlos started his career through this talent search. He is born in Cebu on April 3, 1989 but now lives in Iloilo. He has already starred in movies like the “POSH” and “White Lady.” Gian had fathered a child to his girlfriend Eda Nolan and named his son, Gian Andrei Ho.
Gian Carlos had performed in a stage play with Dion Ignacio, at East Avenue in an excerpt from “Gamo Gamo” which highlights the story about the difficulties of street children. He plays the role of a blind. Little did the cast know that Gian was already suffering from an internal bleeding due to the intensity of the acting workshop. Instead, he texted his aunt and told her that he will just finish all his commitments and go home to Iloilo immediately. Gian is suffering from an incurable blood illness called hemophilia and kidney problems related to the disease. This is the major reason that he is having problems attending to his appointments and tapings at times.
Aside from this, he has been experiencing a few more problems like the death of his grandmother a few years back who stood by and took care of him when his mother abandoned him. After his grandmother’s death, a close aunt also died because of breast cancer. And just after that incident, his uncle has been going in and out of the hospital and may have been diagnosed for a certain cancer. The family has been greatly affected by these circumstances and Gian was the most affected of all. These are the reasons why he had not been visible on showbiz happenings and do not have a regular TV show recently and had not filmed any movie to date. He can only do so much as guestings and other out-of-town shows to augment his finances.
He had several regular TV shows to which he appeared as guests or starring roles namely “Langit Sa Piling Mo,” “ Party Pilipinas,” “Magpakailanman,” “Love to Love,” “Baywalk,” “Maynila,” and “Bubble Gang,“ all under GMA Network Management. He was also a regular on the musical television show SOP in 2005-2010, in Star Struck and StarTalk Struckattack.
Gian Carlos promised to be back in the showbiz industry as soon as possible for the major reason that he already had a son of his own and will be raising his own family. His responsibilities as a father are now his priority and he doesn’t think of his disease often. He is praying positively that his son won’t inherit diseases that had been passed from generation to generation.
He is however thankful that the family of Eda had accepted him into their family without any reservations and questions whatsoever although they have already separated their ways. They remained friends and civil and only think what’s best for their son. Gian Carlos is aware that being a teenage Dad is really a problem if you don’t know what your responsibilities are. He believes that focus and proper perspective are all that it takes to be successful in the showbiz industry.
