Erik Santos was born on October 10, 1982, in Malabon, Philippines. His real name is Rhoderick Ramos Santos, and he is a popular Filipino artist, actor and commercial model. In January of 2004, she won in one of the most prestigious singing competition in ABS-CBN, entitled “Star In a Million,” Season 1. Erick discovered his passion in music when he was still a little boy and he tried his luck joining several amateur singing contests. His educational background was at the Centro Escolar University where he took up a course in Dentistry. Eventually he had to transfer at Emilio Aguinaldo College and shifted to a nursing course. He had to quit studying for a while because of his busy work schedules. Later, he returned to Centro Escolar University and finished his degree in Bachelor of Science in Psychology. It was in Immaculate Conception Parochial School – Malabon that he graduated his high school education.
He was also dubbed as the ‘Prince of Pop,” because his soulful voice makes his audience applaud for more. “Pagbigyang Muli,” was his first single and a blockbuster song that had hit the charts for more than 20 weeks. Because of his singing talent, he was considered as one of the most sought singers in Philippine entertainment. His albums had received awards, his concerts were all successful, his invitations in the corporate world were numerous, and he was one of the favorite and reliable endorsers of advertisers. He had carefully worked his way for his success with perseverance, determination and hard work, gained his own reputation today.
Erick had released his debut album entitled “This is the Moment,” in 2004, and after only three months from the release, it went platinum. His second album ‘Loving You Now,” with a carrier single “Bakit BA Iniibig Ka,” was composed by an equally talented songwriter and singer Ogie Olcasid. It was in 2005 that he performed in his first ever major solo concert held at the Marikina Riverbanks. In 2007, he had another concert now at the Araneta Coliseum which was entitled “Erik Santos: Solo at the Coliseum,” with guest performers Sam Milby, The Company, Nyoy Volante and Ai-Ai de las Alas.
Erick has been already happy and contented with his career and what he had achieved as a performer. After his break-up with ex-girlfriend Ruffa Mae Quinto, he was rumored to be courting a new girl outside showbiz. He says he is open to the idea of leaving showbiz and just wants to maintain and sustain his status in his career right now. Erick admits that he is just a simple man and is appreciative of even the smallest blessings that come his way. He established a small business in Bulacan, a piggery and duck raising business. He had also built a house in his hometown.
Today, he is still visible in TV appearances, and had a regular Sunday show, and busy attending to corporate events as guest performers. He had truly made a name for himself.
