Ella Guevara’s real name is Janella Denise Yuson Guevara, who was born on August 19, 1998 in Quezon City, Philippines. She is a Filipina child actress in Philippine entertainment. Ella first tried to compete with other children in a talent search entitled “Star Stuck” over GMA 7 Network. This gave her the opportunity for an acting career although she did not get to win in the said contest. It was in GMA network that she was given her biggest break, and that in this connection, Ella has won at least five (5) Best Child Actress Awards in different award giving bodies which made her the most popular child actress of her generations.
She had appeared in numerous short films, among them were “Alaala,” “Luna Lucis,” “Rippies,” “Regalo,” ‘Philippine Marines AVP,’ and “Sonata.” Ella had also endorsed various products such as “Tender Juicy Hotdog,” “Lucky me Pancit Canton.” Her awards included “Best Child Performer of The Year” in 2004, “Most Popular Child Actress” in 2005, “Best Child Actress Of The Year” in 2006, “Most Popular Child Actress’ in 2007.
Ella was able to pass the awkward stage between a child and a young adult because she was positive that there will be roles for her age in the indie scene. She was then famous for her roles in “Sigaw,” and “Blackout.” She then appeared in a Filipino-American movie “Graceland,” which caught the eye of the international critics at Tribeca film. “Graceland,” brought Ella to the New York Festival along with fellow actors Leon Miguel and Arnold Reyes, and she was so happy upon knowing that Michael Moore, an Oscar-winning filmmaker watched their film.
Ella felt like that was quite an experience and a dream come true. The film was also recognized in different parts of the world such as Athens, Ghent in Belgium, Spain, Hawaii and to the San Diego Asian Festival. “Graceland” won the best narrative feature in San Diego, California. After this film, Ella made two indies entitled “Ride To Love,” where she plays a granddaughter who teaches her grandmother played by Boots Anson Roa how to commute via MRT and in “Limang Dipang Tao” she played the role of a jeepney rider. This particular movie became a finalist in the second Sineng Pambansa festival.
Ella also appeared in various TV shows such as “Magpakailanman,””Love to Love,” “Bubble Gang,” “Darna,” “Agos,””Etheria,” “Encantadia,” “Duyan,” “Asian Treasures,” “Sinasamba Kita,” “Asian Treasures,” “Kids On Q,” “Impostora,” “Vendetta,” and “My Only Love,” to name a few. She was seen in various movies “Sigaw,” “kilig, Pintig, Yanig,” “Birhen ng Manaoag,” “Say That You Love Me,” “Hari Ng Sablay,” “Ako Legal Wife,” “Umiyak Man Ang Langit,””Ouija,” at “Babae Sa Sementeryo.”
Ella hopes to make more movies in the future, to hone her acting skills.
