Jessy Mendiola is the screen name of Jessica Mendiola Tawile, who was born on December 3, 1992 in United Arab Emirates. She is the second daughter of three whose mother is a Filipina and her father is Half Lebanese and Half British. Jessy was only three years old when her mother decided to return to the Philippines together with her elder sister. She left her husband because of infidelity. After quite some time, her parents reconciled and another sister Megan was born in Mexico. Again, the two separated for unknown reasons, but Jessy is still contacting her father who is working as a marine anthropologist. Jessy studied in Far Eastern University for her college education. ABS-CBN Star Magic Talents had Jessy Mendiola, Megan Young, Alfonso Martinez, Carlo Guevarra as Batch 15.
Jessy Mendiola had her first TV appearance via “Star Magic Presents: Abt Ur Luv ur Lyf 2,” in 2007 and had a bit role in a TV telerserye entitled, “Sineserye Presents: Natutulog Ba Ang Diyos?,” followed by the series “Volta,” in 2008, where she played as Chappy Girl. Jessy had also TV appearances in “George and Cecil,”and “Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo.” This is in the latter that she had gained good feedbacks and because of that, her guest appearance was extended. Later, she was a given a role in “Your Song Presents: Gimik 2010,” in which she played the character of a reformed rebel teenager. In Maalaala Mo Kaya, she played the lead character in the episode “Marriage Contract,” and In Wansapanataym, she also played a lead role in the episode “Kakambal Ko’y Manika.” She was given a bigger break in the afternoon teleserye under ABS-CBN “Sabel.” After its final conclusion in 2011, Jessy was cast in “ASAP Rocks.” The ASAP’s Dance Squad was composed by Jessy Mendiola, Empress Schuck, Enchong Dee and Sam Concepcion. She also became one of the judges in the noontime show “Showtime,” and had a guest appearance in Maalaala Mo Kaya episode entitled “Medalyon.” In the blockbuster TV teleserye “Budoy,” she was Jackie Marasigan opposite Gerald Anderson. Recently, she was also a part of the movie “Reunion” with Enrique Gil, Xiam Lim and other newcomers. “Paraiso,” was a concluded afternoon teleserye in which she had the chance to pit her acting skills with Matt Evans and Mateo Guidicelli.
Just recently, Jessy was offered to do a remake of Maria Mercedes, which was originally played by equally famous Mexican star Thalia. She was so fortunate and happy to be the one chosen to do the series. In the cast are the likes of Jake Cuenca, Jason Abalos, Vina Morales, Dominic Ochoa, Nadia Montenegro and Vivian Velez and will be directed by Rechie Del Carmen. Jessy was quick to admit that playing Maria Mercedes is one of her dreams come true role.
Jessy is also preparing and very excited to do her first ever major movie together with John Lloyd Cruz, Dawn Zulueta and Richard Gomez.
