Diether Ocampo, A Filipino actor, singer and model is born on July 19, 1974 in Bacoor Cavite. He finished his primary and secondary education in Bacoor, Cavite. He pursued a college education at the De La Salle University – Dasmarinas. Diether is of Chinese and German descent.
Diether Ocampo started his career in dancing. He was a dancer at a local escort service pub in Quezon City before he was discovered by ABS-CBN in the 1990’s and prompted him to auditioned for ABS-CBN talent search in 1995. After a year and a half he became one of the talents of Star Circle Batch II. Diether is under the management of Star Magic Circle. Diether was also a member and vocalist of the pop rock band named Blow where he is known as Capt. Mongrel.
His first movie appearance was in the movie adaptation of the teen oriented show On TV and in the movie Calvento Files: The Movie in 1997. He appeared in commercials like Palmolive Shampoo, Jolt Cola and several PLDT commercials. Diether was also known to be part of the male group The Hunks together with Piolo Pascual, Jericho Rosales, Carlos Agassi and Bernard Palanca. In 2007 Diether played a role in the anti-zoo ad for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) – Asia Pacific in which he is a member.
He was the executive producer for The Pin-Ups first album named Hello Pain. This enabled the band to sign up with a U.S label making them the first Philippine band to be signed under a U.S label. Diether is also active in charitable works like K.I.D.S which stands for Kabataan Inyong Dapat Suportahan a charitable foundation that aims to help the underprivileged children of Metro Manila. He is the founder of this foundation.
Diether Ocampo was married to actress Kristine Hermosa on September 21, 2004. Like many celebrity marriage his wife Kristine filed for annulment on June 21, 2005. The court granted Kristine’s nullification of their marriage in 2007 but a solicitor general made an appeal. Their marriage was only declared null and void on January 30, 2009. Diether has a passion for photography. He is also known to be a vegetarian.
