Daniel Padilla, a Filipino actor and recording artist was born Daniel John Ford Padilla on April 26, 1995. He is the son of actor, Rommel Padilla and singer- actress Carla Ford popularly known as Karla Estrada. He is the first son of his mother, Karla. His parents are not married. His friends call him by the nickname DJ. Daniel has a strong resemblance to his father’s brother, actor, Robin Padilla who became very famous because of his bad boy image. Daniel is often tagged with the same image like his uncle.
He is under the management of ABS-CBN and Star Magic. Daniel is popular for his role as Gino in the primetime Filipino drama Princess and I which was a hit on Philippine TV. Daniel’s first acting career started when he played a minor role in Gimik 2010; a youth oriented show in ABS-CBN and played the role as Daniel Ledesma who was paired to teen actress Julia Montes. He also casted in another youth oriented show, Growing Up which also aired on ABS-CBN. He also appeared in the drama series Mara Clara where he was paired to another teen actress Kathryn Bernardo. This was the start of his popular love team with Kathryn and is now considered the hottest love team in Philippine show business.
He starred in movies like 24/7 In Love under Star Cinema, Kuratong Baleleng, Sisterakas, and Must Be…Love. Because of his talent he won many awards. His latest awards were, Yes! Magazine’s Most Beautiful Stars, Yahoo! Philippines OMG! Awards as a Best Male Newcomer, FAMAS Awards and won the German Moreno Youth Achievement Awardee, MYX Music Award 2013 for Favorite New Artist, Himig Handog P-Pop Love Songs 2013 for MOR Listener’s Choice Award, Tambayan 101 Listener’s Choice Awards, TFC Viewer’s Choice Award, Star Records Buyer’s Choice Awards and many more.
Daniel Padilla released his debut self-titled album on May 28, 2012. It is a six track album with the carrier single Hinahanap-hanap Kita which is also featured in his drama series Princess and I. This album sold almost 10,000 copies in just a week and went up to 20,000 copies in the following days. Daniel was given a Gold Record Award for sales on his first album and eventually he was also given a Platinum record. Daniel has a band named Parking 5 and he is a good guitar player.
