This action and television star belongs to the clan of Revilla who are known in the world of show business. Born in the Philippines as Bernard Revilla Palanca, Jr. with a Chinese descent, he is fondly called by his close friends as BJ. He stands 6 feet and he is the son of Pita Revilla Palanca and Bernard Palanca, Sr. as well as the grandson of the showbiz icon Armando Goyena, a legendary Filipino actor. He was once married to Meryll Soriano in 2006 to whom they have a child named Elija Pineda who was born on 2007 at the Makati Medical Center but the couple later separated. His younger brother Mico Revilla is also an actor. His grandfather Carlos Palanca, Jr. is a businessman philanthropist who owns the Carlos Palanca Awards.
Both Bernard’s fraternal and maternal sides have a background in show business. His mother Pita Revilla Palanca is the sister of Marites Revilla Araneta who was once a model of Camay, an actress, and a jewelry designer. His other aunt Cita Revilla Puyat was also a Camay model. His cousin Bianca Araneta Elizalde is also a supermodel. He is also the nephew of a former TV host Tina Revilla Valencia.
Bernard Palanca became more famous as a member of the male group called The Hunks with Jericho Rosales, Piolo Pascual, Carlos Agassi and Diether Ocampo. He is a versatile actor who took various roles both in the television and movies. He was a member of the Star Magic Batch 5 and was a part of the band Bizkit Factory. The band was even featured on cinema in the movie Kahit Isang Saglit. He later transferred to GMA 7 after his contract with ABS CBN expired. He then appeared as part of the cast in the network’s primetime series Gagambino together with Katrina Halili, Dennis Trillo and Ryza Cenon. He then later worked with actress Heart Evangelista in the remake of Ngayon at Kailanman with JC de Vera.
