Shaina García Magdayao is a Filipina actress, singer, dancer and model born on November 6, 1988. She is under the managing contract of ABS-CBN’s Star Magic Group Of Talents. She is a sister to Vina Morales, also an actress and singer.
At a tender age of 7, Shaina Magdayao started her acting career when she was cast in the TV series Lyra where she played the lead role. She also became part of Ang TV, Kaybol and starred in an afternoon drama series Marinella along with Camille Prats and Serena Dalrymple. She played the role of Rina. Shaina also at a young age was able to release her own self-titled album with a carrier single Sayaw Sweet Lullabye under Star Records.
Shaina Magdayao received various awards as a child as she played daughter in many films which includes Tanging Yaman that won her Best Child Actress award from the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences Awards and Most popular Child Actress Award from the 2002 Guillermo Mendoza Awards. Her role in Ang Tanging Ina has also been award winning and properly acknowledged. Among other rewards she has received are the Best Child Performer award from the Parangal ng Bayan in 1999, and Best New TV Personality in the 1999 Star Awards. Other awards and nominations are; in 2010 Pinakapasadong Kabataan Award at the 10th Gawad Pasado Awards, Best Supporting Actress (Katas ng Saudi) Nominee at Metro Manila Film Festival Awards, Next Big Female Star Nominee at YES! Magazine Reader’s Choice Award; in 2008 Best Single Performance by an Actress (Maalaala Mo Kaya: Telebisyon) Nominee at the PMPC Star Award for TV; in 2010 Fashionista Award (Female) at the Star Magic Ball; and in 2011 Best Supporting Actress (Sa ‘yo Lamang) Nominee at the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences Award.
