Melai Cantiveros, a Filipina actress, comedienne, host, television personality and former reality show contestant is born Melisa Bunayog Cantiveros on April 6, 1988 at General Santos City, South Cotabato Philippines to Dionisio and Virginia Cantiveros. Melai is the third of four children and the only daughter. People love Melai because of her wit and charm. At a young age she already possessed a good sense of humor. She was then very popular in the university she came from and because of this she even won as president of the student council.
Melai Cantiveros is currently one of ABS-CBN’s contract talents. She became popular in the reality show, Pinoy Big Brother wherein she has won in October 2009 and making her the fifth female Big Winner of the reality show. Melai won the competition by getting 1,226,675 votes or 32.08% of the entire votes. After becoming the Big Winner, Maila did guesting in several shows like The Buzz, SNN, Showbiz News Ngayon and Entertainment Live and she was invited to shows like ASAP Rocks. Melai nad her real life partner Jason Fransisco starred in the reality show spin off entitles Melason In Love. Later on Melai was a casted in the daytime drama Impostor and landed a main role in the fantasy series Kokey @ Ako. She also played a main role in an episode in Maalaala Mo Kaya. Melai became one of the hosts in the noontime show Happy, Yipee, Yehey and played a main role in the show Precious Hearts Romances Presents: Mana Po before it ended in late March.
