Jaclyn Jose in real life is Mary Jane Sta, Ana Guck, a Filipino veteran actress in the TV and movie industry. She was born on March 16, 1964 in Angeles City, Pampanga, Philippines and came from a German ancestry. She had a brief relationship with Mark Gil in which they had a daughter named Andi Eigenmann. Jaclyn was remembered for her unforgettable roles in the Filipino movies “Salome,” “White Slavery,” and “Santa Juana.” She was a very versatile and effective actress which had captured numerous awards in both local and international cinemas. In 2002, she appeared in various TV shows “Sana Ay IKaw Na Nga,” “Te Amo,” in 2004, and in a TV series “Zorro,” which was shown on GMA Network. In addition, she has also starred in “Babalik Kang Muli,” and “Nagsimula sa Puso.”
Jaclyn Jose also grew up in a broken family, in a Filipino mother and American serviceman she had not seen for ages now, and for this reason, she knew the hardships and struggles that are present in being a single parent. Her two children, Andi, (by Mark Gil) and Gwen (by a band player) were not able to miss a father because Jaclyn made it a point to give them a life that won’t need a father figure. They grew up like any other normal children.
When the two kids were still little, Jaclyn would often feel guilty for not staying longer at home because she was busy working to provide for Andi and Gwen. She would then explain the situation to the kids but Andi would often sulk every time she left. After quite some time, she decided to take a break from her acting career, to give more time for the children. This is when she noticed that Andi had grown so fast that she had not noticed it. Jaclyn was staying home while Andi always left. It was then that she realized, the time lost between them. Jaclyn opted to stay home for a while and learned to put her family as her top priority.
Time passed by so quickly, that today; Andi has been already a mother of her own. Like her mom, Jaclyn, she is raising her daughter on her own by working as a movie and TV personality. Jaclyn believes that being in the showbiz industry is a noble job, and she dreams to let them finish their education above anything else. Education is still the best gift that she can give them, she says.
