They were married 1978 and separated in 2006. With a pretty, small face, she came from a Chinese descent.
She started her career in showbiz industry when she was only eight years old via the movie “Kaibigan Kong Sto. Nino.” Gina is considered as one of the best and talented actress in Filipino entertainment. Aside from doing some directorial jobs, she is also holding acting workshops to various newcomers in the industry.
In the years of being married to each other, Gina and Michael had their countless ons and offs. Their friends and family thought that the situation is only one of those things, but unfortunately, they had filed and annulment in the Philippines and a divorce in the US because of their immigrant status. Both wanted a legal, clean break-up to finish things the way it should be. Both parties had agreed that they had at least tried to save the marriage for the nth time, but this time it’s finally over.
The children were also supportive of the decision and relieved because they had seen the fights and differences that are eating up their parents. Whatever the choices of their parents are, they all understood and are agreeable. Gina wanted to have a decent closure so that they can both move on with their own personal lives and be at peace. Today, she is happy and contented being single and enjoying what life is still having to offer for her. It was a painful experience for her, especially when the annulment was granted. She says time heals all wounds, and she is picking up the pieces on where she left off. She is happy being single now, and hope to have more projects as an actress and as a director. Acting and directing had become her passion, and she draws strength from God and her three boys.
Some of Gina Alajar’s films and TV show appearances were: “Hiram Na Puso,” “Magpakailanman,” “Mater Dolorosa,” “Guniguni,” “Boy Pick Up, The Movie,” ‘Amaya (TV Series).”
It is in the TV Series Amaya that Gina got her Best Supporting Actress Award from the Golden Screen TV Awards in a Drama Series, which was awarded by the Entertainment Press for her role in the said series.
She says that although how difficult life is, there is always hope when you still exist. There are so many things that she can be thankful about, her acting career, directing and her sons. It is what she keeps her going. She might not be lucky in love, but there are other blessings that always come her way in which to be grateful.
