Edu Manzano, a Filipino actor, comedian and politician is born Eduardo Barrios Manzano on September 14, 1955 in San Francisco California to Filipino parents. When he was seventeen, Edu joined the United States armed forces. He was the former husband of actress and now Governor Vilma Santos and together they have a son Luis Philippe Manzano also a Filipino actor. Edu was previously married to Philippine actress Maricel Soriano and later on separated. He was also formerly engaged to news anchor Pinky Webb. He has two kids with partner Rina Samson named Adi and Enzo Manzano.
Among the famous films that Edu Manzano made in show business include Tanging Yaman, Palimos ng Pag-ibig, Captain Jaylo Batas sa Batas, Alyas Pogi 1: Birador ng Nueva Ecija and the most popular is Captain Barbell which he made in 1986 and played the role of Teng Teng and Capt. Barbell that made him more popular. Eventually, Edu served as the president of the actors’ group called Kapisanan ng mga Artista sa Pelikulang Pilipino in the 1990s. In 2010 he was a contract star under ABS-CBN but took a leave to run for the position of Vice President of the Philippines in the 2010 elections. After his loss in the said election, he has stated that he was no longer interested in returning to show business but rather he is more interested to host current affairs programs. In the same year Edu signed a contract with GMA-7 and hosted the TV show Asar Talo Lahat Panalo!And the game show Family Feud: The Showdown Edition since April 2011. At present he is now under TV 5 where he hosted the game show Game N Go and has been part of the morning show Good Morning Club. He already tried the singing stint where he made a couple of music albums entitled Dance of the Universe under the Universal Records and the World’s Greatest Dance Steps in 2007.
