A popular Filipino movie and TV actress, Rita Avila started her career through a late afternoon talent show entitled “That’s Entertainment.” She eventually married a director, Erick Reyes and they had a premature baby of whom they named Elia Jesu E. Reyes. But after three weeks of being born, the baby died. This prompted her to write an inspirational book entitled “8 Ways to Comfort with Grace,” which highlighted on her saddest moments when they lost their son. The first book entitled “Si Erik Tutpik at si Ana Taba,” is focused on children who had experienced bullying. Although faced with difficulty, Rita had finally accepted and moved on, and takes inspiration from her marriage to her husband. Rita Avila’s real name is Ana Marie Errea.

This first book actually talked about her childhood and Ericks’ too. Rita tells that when she was little, she is a chubby little girl and her husband Erick, was typically thin. The story is based on real life encounters about being judged and misjudged based on physical appearance. Her goal is to teach children to look beyond what eyes can see and focus on the essential attributes like character traits. These can be important lessons in life that can teach the young about good moral values.

When talking about showbiz projects, Rita is happy sharing her ideas with her husband who listens intently to what Rita points out, and try to balance things that can be of betterment to a certain project. Erick used to direct an ABS-CBN’s teleserye entitled “E-Boy.” They believed that this is one of the advantages when two of you are working on the same field.

Rita Avila is also busy doing a variety of TV shows such as “Never Say Goodbye,” which is her first soap on TV5. She had reunited with some of the actors and actresses she had worked before she was younger. Rita is tasked to do villain roles but in reality she is sensitive and kind, the one who typically writes and paints, and at peace with herself.

On the TV series “Walang Hanggan” issue, Rita says she had no choice but to leave the show because of health problems. It was actually doctor’s advice that prompted her to take a break from the highest rated show in the history of teleseryes. It was also painful for her to leave but she cannot do otherwise. She needs to undergo a spine therapy treatment immediately.

Today, she is taking her time enjoying all the blessings that are coming her way. She’s just so thankful for having a very supportive husband who understands what she went through and is going through in her life. There may be ups and downs, yet Rita still count her blessings. She still has a lot to be grateful and be busy about.

Although she is still emotional when sensitive topic about her son is being opened up, she believes that God is taking care of her little angel, and hopes she gets another angel in the future.
