Maria Katrina Iren Pe Halili was born on January 4, 1986, in Quezon City, Philippines. She is popularly known as Katrina Halili, a Filipina actress, commercial model and a music producer in the Philippine entertainment industry. She joined Starstruck, a reality talent show but was not recognized until her first TV appearance as villainess in “Darna,” “Majika,” and “MariMar,” and a leading role in “One Night Only,” “Gagambino,’ and “Magdusa Ka.”
A cover girl of the leading men’s magazine such as FHM and Maxim Philippines, Katrina became sensational as a sex symbol in showbizlandia. She was even nominated as the sexiest woman in the year 2006 and 2007. She was a three-time cover girl of FHM Philippines. Katrina had also launched her own line of swimsuits and lingeries and became a model of the Belo Medical Group. In 2009, a sex video scandal became viral starring Katrina and Hayden Kho, who was then in a relationship with Dra. Belo. The scandal lead to legal actions and took a long period of time in legal battle. This resulted in a list of various endorsements for Katrina.
Eventually she met singer-actor Kris Lawrence and developed a relationship that brought them a daughter of whom they named Katrence Lawrence Halili Cadevida which was born on September 18, 2012. Today, Katrina is a picture of a happy, contented woman. She takes pride in her daughter who is soon to turn one year. Katrina swears to forget the past and instead, move on and look forward for Kris and Katrence. Marriage can wait, she quips, not until they are both stable and have their own house. For now, she will be busy attending to her daughter and do some TV shows perhaps.
Last January 2013, Katrence was dedicated at the Verandah of the Oasis Pavilion in Quezon City. It was in 2008 when Kris and Katrina started dating, there were ups and downs, but they survived the problems that are usually encountered in relationships. They both considered Baby Kat as a blessing, and they really are proud parents. Katrina is a picture of a fulfilled woman because of her new found happiness.
She’s also set to work if something worthwhile comes her way, and ready to be back for some serious roles. Kris feels Katrina is missing her acting career, and although she’s happy and prioritizing the family, Kris is amenable and supportive of whatever Katrina’s decision will be.
One thing Katrina wishes to do in her movie career is to prove herself as a mature actress, who can also win an award to prove her acting prowess. That’s one gift she can give herself in this movie industry. It’s okay to be dubbed as “Hot Momma,” but it’s more okay to be recognized as an actress without baring skin anymore. Katrina thinks that it is improper to do sexy roles at this time of her life.
They both agree to be a little more understanding with each other considering they are both from the showbiz world, and there are always pressures that can affect their relationship.
