Makisig MoralesMakisig Morales is a young Filipino actor wo was born on December 22, 1996 and joined the TV reality show entitled “Little Big Star.” He is also the lead singer of the band “Mak and the Dudes.” He was given the lead role of the TV show “Super Inggo” under ABS-CBN network. Makisig had experiences of joining other competitions when he was still very young. When he was about 5 years old, he joined a singing contest in a segment on ‘MTB,” one of the top rated noontime show in ABS-CBN. Makisig was with his sister Mayumi back then. They both auditioned for the “Little Big Star” reality show. Makisig has another brother named Maliksi Morales. Makisig became a co-host for the next series of “Little Big Star,” in 2007 and was dubbed as the Prince of Hearts. He became a child performer under Star Cinema.

Makisig Morales took a break from his acting career to focus on his studies. He made a comeback via a TV teen horror series entitled ‘Okat2kat” opposite Paul Salas, Sue Ann Ramirez, Jane Oineza and Joshua Colet. He is glad to be active in his acting career once again because he misses the times when he spent tapings most of the day. Makisig was quick to add that he never felt sorry for being absent in showbiz for a while because he also get to guest once in a while. He believes that he is still in his awkward stage and this happens almost to every child actor. Makisig was given all the moral support by his family.

The young actor said that taking a break from showbiz was a blessing in disguise because he get to spend more time with his family especially his siblings. He said he was never depressed.

Lately, he had his first musical theater experience when he was asked to portray the role of Pedro Calungsod, a Filipino saint and martyr which was shown at the Meralco Theater. Makisig was honored to be chosen among the many to portray such a sensitive role. The play was entitled “Teen St. Pedro, The Musical.” The play centers on the life of St. Pedro Calungsod of Cebu, who was recently canonized as the 2nd Filipino saint. Makisig was real happy and accepted the role because their family are devout Catholics and active members of the church. Makisig himself is a member of “Youth For Christ,” an organization of young Catholic people.

Makisig’s winnings in the first singing competition he joined was actually donated to GAWAD Kalinga, a nation-building movement, which he supports. He says this is one way of giving back to the Lord the success he attained in his life.

He is now on his senior in his secondary education at the St. Augustine International School. Makisig is the second among ten children of parents Uldarico and Jacqueline Morales who hails from Davao, Philippines. His films include “Supahpapalicious,” “Caregiver,” and “Petrang Kabayo.” Makisig also had his own recorded songs. He dreams of becoming a film director in the future and hopes to pursue a course in film making at the Conservatory of Music at the University of the Philippines.
