Jackie Lou BlancoMiriam Redito Quaimbao was born in Quezon City on May 25, 1975 to parents Magdalena Redito and Medgardo Quiambao. She studied at the School of the Holy Spirit in her elementary and high school years. Miriam then pursued a college degree in physical therapy at the University of Santo Tomas. She later went to Indiana, United States and passed her licensure examinations at a full-pledged Physical Therapist. Miriam then started her career as a physical therapist at St. Luke’s Hospital in Manila when she was discovered to participate in the Binibining Pilipinas contest. She was also working as an instructor at a local gym. Miriam became a Filipino TV personality and movie actress after she became a winner as the Binibining Pilipinas in 1999.

During the Binibining Pilipinas in 1999, she had also won several awards including the “Miss Photogenic,” and the title “Binibining Pilipinas World Title.” By then, the reigning “Binibining Pilipinas-Universe” Janelle Bautista was dethroned because of the questionable citizenship. Miriam Quiambao was tasked to take over and be the one to represent in the 1999 “Miss Universe Beauty Pageant,” held in Trinidad and Tobago. Lalaine Edson, who was the reigning Binibining Pilipinas International took over Miriam Quiambao’s vacated title.

It was in the prestigious “Miss Universe Beauty Pageant” that Miriam Quiambao gained the respect of the people all over the world. After that celebrated “slip” that made her fall on stage, did she display a strong confidence upon regaining her composure and walking graciously, she finished her walk with an applaud from the audience. Miriam was quoted that” she represents women who have fallen on and off stage” to just stand up, pick up the pieces where you left and continue to fight. She said she hopes to be an inspiration to all women. She placed First runner-up in the Pageant.

Upon returning with the victory, opportunities came rushing as she began her career as a TV Host and Correspondent for GMA Network. She was a co-host at a morning show “Unang Hirit,” opposite Arnold Clavio, Lyn Ching, Suzi Entrata, Mickey Ferriols and Ryan Agoncillo. She was given her own segment entitled “Istayl.” Later, she joined Palo Bediones in “Extra Extra” which was then replaced by “Extra Challenge.” She left the show in December 2003. She hosted “All About You,” her first solo talk show which catered about women and their good values.

Sometime 2004, she met and married an Italian businessman named Claudio Rondinelli but eventually separated after two years of being together. She went home in 2006 and resumed her Television career, again with Paolo Bediones in “Pinoy Meets World.”

She was also considered an effective celebrity endorser in products such as, “Olay Total Effects,” “ Olay Body Soap,” “Mister Donut,” “Cream Silk,” “Lactacyd,” to name a few. Miriam is an active Advocate for Education as well as Children’s Rights and Child Labor in the year 2006-2007.

In a recent interview, Miriam revealed that she is indeed taking a break from showbiz because she prioritizes corporate world now, but added that if there are good opportunities, she will definitely accept it.
