Mark Herras was born on December 14, 1986 in Santa Rosa, Laguna, Philippines. He is Mark Angelo Santos Herras in real life, and a popular Filipino actor. His acting and movie career started when he joined “Starstruck”, a reality talent show aired over GMA 7. Mark was dubbed as the “Ultimate Bad Boy of the Dance Floor,” wherein he showcased his talent in dancing that made him the “1st Ultimate Male Starstruck Survivor” together with her female counterpart, Jennylyn Mercado. They were paired and became love team on and off screen. His being a winner eventually gave him the opportunity to join the Philippine movie industry.
Lolit Solis became his manager in his career. He began to have numerous gigs on out-of-town shows, and had various TV appearances such as “Forever In My Heart,” “Encantadia,” “SOP,” and “I Luv NY,” all in GMA 7 Telebabad. He was also included in a Sunday variety show “SOP Rules.” Mark and jennylyn also made a movie under Regal film entitled “So happy Together,” opposite Eric Quizon and Kris Aquino. He also had various endorsements such as Smart, Silverworks, and Star Choconut.
In 2005, the love team Mark and Jennylyn was officially launched via the movie “Say That You Love Me” followed by the blockbuster film “Let the Love Begin,” together with the Richard Gutierrez and Angel Locsin love team under GMA Films. In 2007, Mark and Jennylyn separate ways and went solo in their respective acting careers. Mark was given a lead role in “Fantastic Man,” that became a weekly action comedy series also in GMA 7. He also appeared in “Mga Mata ni Anghelita,” and had a guest appearance in ‘La Vendetta,” which was top billed by Jennylyn Mercado. Mark was given the chance to play a role with this idol action star Robin Padilla in a drama series entitled “Joaquin Bordado.” After so many long years, the viewers had not totally forgetten the love team of Mark and Jennylyn, and because of this, GMA gave them a show entitled “Sine Novela: Paano Ba Ang Mangarap,” just after Jennelyn gave birth to her son. This was followed up by another drama series entitled “Ikaw Sana” with Jennylyn and Pauleen Luna in 2009. In 2010, he starred in GMA TV series “Diva” opposite Alynna Asistio as her screen partner. It was also the same year when he was given a hosting job in “Party Pilipinas,” a replacement to the defunct SOP Rules. He was then given a lead role in “Time of my Life,” a dance teleserye with Kris Bernal in 2011.
In “Hiram Na Puso,” he was starred opposite Kris Bernal in 2012. Mark Herras current girlfriend is Ynna Asistio, the second daughter of actress Nadia Montenegro. He says, he hopes to see himself walking the aisle with her when he turns 30, and that probably by that time he is financially capable of taking care of Ynna. They are already going steady for the past four years, and he is quite sure that she is the one he’ll marry in the future.
