Janice De Belen is born Catherine Janice Yap De Belen on November 9, 1968 in Quezon City, Philippines. Her parents are Philip De Belen and Susan Yap. She is the elder sister of Gelli De Belen, an actress. Her first TV appearance was with RPN 9 at the age of nine, as a newscaster in Newswatch Junior Edition. She made a plight in show business when she got the title role for Flordeluna also from the same network. Flor Deluna has become a top rating soap opera during the 80s which ran in Philippine television for 5 years.
In her teens, Janice has become the Philippines’ Drama Princess along with Julie Vega. Together they starred in films during the 80s that won the hearts of the Filipino audience. Janice had an intimate relationship with Aga Muhlachwith whom they had a love child, Luigi’Igi Boy’ Muhlach. The relationship did not last long and they both went their separate ways being successful in the path they both choose to take. She was soon married to John Estradawith whom she had four children; Ina, Moira, Kyla and her youngest son Yuan. They soon separated after John Estrada was said to have been linked to a co-host in a TV noon time show Magandang Tanghali Bayan MTB.
She has been with the Philippines Showbiz Industry since 1978 and has participated in many TV shows and Award Winning movies. She had the chance to work alongside the best performers in show business. She has appeared in many movies from the time she has started to present. The most recent movies where she appeared in wereShake, Rattle & Roll 14, The Strangers, Tiktik: The Aswang Chronicles, Mga Mumunting Lihim, Pridyider, and The Healing all in 2012.She also made various TV appearances right from the present Showbiz Inside Report, Ina, Kapatid, Anak, Budoy, Magic Palayok, Dwarfina, Endless Love, Darna, Boys Next Door, Spoon, StarStruck Kids, StarStruck, Sis, Saan Ka Man Naroroon and Mula Sa Puso among many.
From 2001 to 2010, she has hosted an award winning talk show, SIS together with her younger sister, Gelli De Belen and friend, Carmina Villaroel. This gave her the opportunity to receive Best Celebrity Talk Show Host for Spoon, 2009-2011 PMPC Star Awards For TV. She also appeared in ABS-CBN’s Budoy and other TV shows within the same network. Currently, she is busy with her performance in a TV adaptation of Ina, Kapatid, Anak which is being shown in ABS-CBN’s Primetime Bida Block and it is also being previewed byTFC network. She is also among the hosts of Showbiz Inside Report.
