Oyo Boy Sotto is a Filipino actor, model and host who is Vittorio Mari Sotto in real life. He was born on January 12, 1984 to parents’ comedian and popular host Vic Sotto and model-actress Dina Bonnevie. His father had Spanish origins and his mother has Swiss, Italian and French ancestry. Oyo has an elder sister Danica Sotto who is also an actress.
Oyo Boy Sotto is said to belong in one of the most prominent and dominant clan in the Filipino entertainment world: the Sottos. Tito Sotto, a senator in his right is his uncle, which is a member of the Tito, Vic and Joey trio. He has cousins the likes of Miko Sotto (deceased) and Ciara Sotto who is also actors in the showbiz industry. Her sister Danica is a TV and movie personality, and his mom, Dina, is a well-acclaimed seasoned veteran actress in her time. Dubbed as the “King of Afternoon Dramas,” because of the numerous TV series he made for TAPE, aired through GMA Network, he continues to display his acting talent up to this moment.
After a series of girlfriends, he was finally married to an actress Kristine Hermosa on January 12, 2011 on a private wedding ceremony at Balai Isabel, in Batangas, Philippines. On December 26, 2011, Kristine bore a daughter whom they named Ondrea Bliss. They had one adopted son, Kristine Daniel or Kiel which was born on August 16, 2008. The wedding was attended by the entire Sotto Clan and Kristine’s family, who flew from Canada to witness the event. Charo Santos, president of ABS-CBN and Johnny Manahan, head of Star Magic were among the principal sponsors.
In 2004 movie “Enteng Kabisote,” Oyo Boy and Kristine were co-stars, and this has been their first meeting ever. In 2006, after the third sequel of the same movie, Oyo started to feel something different towards Kristine. Oyo tells that they were already spending out with together with their friends that time. Although they never reveal that they had become more than friends, it was later admitted by Oyo Boy that they were officially a couple last September 9, 2009, which was the actress’ birthday. It was also the same day that he asked and proposed marriage to Kristine. After the said occasion, they finally talked about their plans of getting married to Oyo boys’ parents and they both flew to Canada to formally seek the blessing of Kristine’s parents.
Today, Oyo Boy is busy doing a comedy show with his dad Vic Sotto “Vampire ang Daddy Ko” at GMA 7. His past films include: “Si Agimat, Si Enteng Kabisote at si Ako,” ”Enteng ng Ina Mo,” ”Agimat at si Enteng at Kabisote,””Ang Darling Kong Aswang,” to name a few. Some of his concluded TV shows are “Midnight DJ,” “Valiente,” and “Lumang Piso para sa Puso.” Oyo Boy Sotto is happy and contented to where he is now. He is thankful for a family he have, his children and very supportive parents. He is taking his career slowly but surely.
