Janine Tugonon, a Filipina beauty queen is born Janine Mari Raymundo Tugonon on October 19, 1989 in Balanga, Bataan. She grew up with her mother, grandparents and sister. She spent her childhood in her small town where her mother and grandparents use to farm. She was very much exposed to her mother and grandparent’s hard work. Janine finished a degree in Pharmacy as Cum Laude at the Pontifical and Royal University of Santo Tomas in Manila on June 2010. She is now a Licensed Pharmacist. Janine also learned ballet and enrolled at the Ballet School of Manila as a ballet protégé while she was attending college. In 2010, Janine was titled Miss Pharmacy and Miss Thomasian Personality 2010 at the University of Santo Tomas.
Janine Tugonon holds the title Miss Universe-Philippines 2012 and placed as first runner-up in the prestigious pageant Miss Universe 2012. Janine also placed first runner-up in Binibining Pilipinas 2011. Her roommate Shamcey Supsup won the title.
Janine Tugonon recently broke-up with her non showbiz boyfriend Jaypee Santos. Janine admitted that they broke-up in March 2013 after Janine reportedly started communicating with The Script’s front man Danny O’Donoghue after they performed at a concert here in Manila that month. Janine and Jaypee appeared in ABS-CBN’s Kris TV hosted by the Queen of All Media, Kris Aquino on April 2013. In the said show Janine admitted that she was a huge fan of The Script an Irish alternative band from Dublin as well as her breakup with Jaypee because of her communication with O’Donoghue. Janine however denied that she has a relationship with the band member and that the breakup was for Janine and Jaypee to contemplate and to think things over. Janine was bombarded with many criticisms over her actions towards Jaypee on national TV and on the other hand many people empathize for Jaypee.
Janine Tugonon is adventurous who enjoys hiking and mountain climbing. She loves to cook classic Filipino dishes and likes to travel a lot. Aside from cooking she loves to make pastillas a Filipino sweet delicacy and she often sells these to friends and family. Her favorite actor is Matthew Gray Gubler from the series Criminal Minds.
