Julie Anne San Jose was born on May 17, 1994 in Novaliches, Quezon City, Philippines. She is a popular Filipino singer, actress, dancer, musician and TV host in Philippine movie and TV industry. Julie Ann is a contract talent of GMA 7 network. She pursues a degree in Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts at Angelicum College in Quezon City, Philippines. At a very young age of three years old, she joined Eat Bulaga’s Little Miss Philippines, where she won the first-runner up place. Still very young by then, she was not able to prosper in her acting career. She then joined “Popstar Kids,” in 2005, a singing competition. She did not win the contest but had the chance to be a member of the group “Sugarpop,” which is the show’s children singing group.
The singing group then released two albums entitled “Sugar Pop,” and “Sugar pop Repackaged.” They were also given their own show “planet Q” where they displayed their talent in hosting. In 2008, she was given the opportunity to act in “Gaano Kadalas ang Minsan,”and was a mainstay in a Sunday Variety Show “SOP.” She also was a regular at “Party Pilipinas,” and was later teamed up with Elmo Magalona. Julie was also included and has made five short films for “Red Mask/Yellow Note” series 1 and 2. She then created a webcast UStreams, which featured a theme every time she sings a song. She had performed “Superbass,” which garnered 16 million viewers to date. She was then invited to do a front act in David Arcguleta’s concert last July 2011.
She then appeared in TV drama series “Andres de Saya,” and “Daldalita,” playing a supporting role. She then signed a contract with GMA network in February 2012. After six months, Julie Ann released her first album that gave her several awards and was a certified quintuple platinum. She had already released four singles from the said album. Her acting debut continued, and she was given the lead role in her biggest break, “Together, Forever,” and her debut in the film was entitled “Just One Summer” opposite Elmo Magalona.
Julie Ann has also recorded various theme songs in a drama series in GMA such as “Dyesebel,” ‘The Last Prince,” “Pilyang Kerubin,” “Sisid,” “Dwarfina,” and “Broken Vow.” She and screen partner Elmo also sang the summer Station ID of GMA7. Julie Ann is such a talented lady that she really had a a passion in singing and even playing various musical instruments such as drums, piano, guitar, flute, lyre, keyboard and xylophone.
Currently, she is one of the regular members of a Sunday variety show in GMA “Sunday All Stars,” while working on her second solo studio album. Julie Ann is also a recurring character in GMA 7’s ‘Pepito Manaloto.”
Julie Ann had had already a series of mini concerts that were applauded, and the first solo concert that she had entitled “Spread The Love Live,” in 2011 was very successful. Her concert in Cebu “From the Heart” was also a blockbuster. Julie Ann was also invited to do a show in Dubai together with ABS-CBN stars Maja Salvador, Derek Ramsay, Alex Castro and Melai Cantiveros dubbed “Proud To Be A Filipino.”
