Jade Hanzel Lopez was born on October 22, 1987 in Tanauan City, Batangas, Philippines and is a popular Filipina actress and a model. She joined a reality search entitled Starstruck aired over GMA7, and she was previously Seventeen Best Female Model. She made it to the 14finalists but was eliminated in the course of the competition. She finished her course in Psychology at San Beda College.
Her joining the reality search opened opportunities for her in the Philippine entertainment. She had starred then in various GMA shows such as “Majika,” “Princess Charming, “Kaputol Ng Isang Awit,” “Ako Si Kim Samsoon, and “All My life,” among others. She then continued her acting career and had appeared in TV shows under TV 5 such as “Midnight DJ” and “Untold Stories Mula Sa Face to Face.”
Jade’s career did not really take off compared to her batchmate Cristine Reyes after their Starstruck days, who is already popular and had various lead roles and movies to her name. But Jade admits that she was never jealous of Cristine’s success as an actress and she is willing to wait for her time to come. Jade is not a quitter and she’s hoping for that big break.
Jade shifted her image from sweet to sexy to the surprise of her followers when she posed sexy on the cover of hot FHM Philippines, a men’s magazine. Jade is under the management of Viva Entertainment and confident that they will take good care of her career. A bit frustrated for not making it big yet in showbiz, she focused on her studies because this she needs to do for herself, for her family and children in the future. Her course in Psychology actually helped her to cope with roles being assigned to her and she can relate to other human behavior sensitively.
Jade hopes that her comeback via her sexy cover of FHM will re-introduce her as a mature actress. It can be recalled that she started her career as very young and shy lady and her being a cover girl back to back with Binibining Pilipinas 2008 was a bomb.
Aside from being an actress and a model she was also involved in “Spark,” where she participated with a local university in a Partnership Trip way back 2008 and eventually became a volunteer and a child sponsor respectively. Jade is also an Education Coordinator for Mercy Home for Boys and Girls because she believes that education is the best should be equal to all especially to deserving children.
She had travelled to different countries to promote education specifically the African continent and she had also spent a year teaching in Korea. She finished her mission to visit two more continents for Spark. Jade is busy attending to her personal activities outside showbiz world and whatever is in store for her, she is willing to take the challenge.
