Sunshine Cruz is a Filipino actress born on July 28, 1977 to a family of actors and actresses, the Cruz family of the entertainment industry. She is a cousin to Geneva Cruz, Donna Cruz and Sheryl Cruz. She also has two sisters, Maricel Cruz and Maritess Cruz Allary and a brother Michael Cruz. She is also a niece to Tirso Cruz III who is among the respected and veteran actors of our time.
In her early years, she was among those active young artists who gained public appearance through a number of films such as Gwapings:The First Adventure, Shake, Rattle and Roll and Teacher Kong Pogi to name a few. In year 2000, she married Cesar Montano, a highly acclaimed actor in Philippine movies and television. Sunshine since then became a dedicated wife and mother of now three children. Recently, her marriage to Cesar Montano has been on the rocks as the latter was said to be involved in a relationship with a young starlet. Sunshine Cruz and Cesar Montano were rumored to have been separated for some time now.
In 2012, Sunshine Cruz makes her comeback to show business. She first posed for a cover of a famous men’s magazine, FHM with a goal to inspire mothers to be at their best and be sexy even with children. She is also the first Filipina to have ever posed for FHM magazine on April 2000. At 35 years old she still has that stunning body and flawless skin that she was known for in her early years in show business. Among the movies and TV appearances she took part in recent years are Pag oras mo, oras mo na in 2000, Urban Task Force in 2001, Alas-dose in 2001, Sunshine – a short video in 2002, Sex in Philippine Cinema in 2004, Marina in 2004, Mother Nanny in 2006, Ligalig in 2006, Asian Treasures in 2007, Lastikman in 2007, Palos in 2008 and Biktima in 2012.
This year 2013, Sunshine Cruz is going to cast in a TV series for ABS-CBN, Dugong Buhay which will be aired on Monday April 8. She is very excited about the project and admits to the press that she is nervous at the same time. The TV series is based on Carlos J Caparas comic series and will be directed by Toto Natividad. She will be playing the role of Isabel de Lara.
