LJ Reyes’ real name is Lourna Jane Pujeda Reyes, born on December 25, 1987 in Quezon City, Philippines. She is a Filipina actress in the Philippine TV and movie industry. She had joined the reality TV show “Star Struck” in which she emerged as one of the Final Four. LJ is presently in a relationship with fellow actor Paulo Avelino in which she gave birth on July 24, 2010 to a son they named Ethan Akio Reyes. LJ stays in Fairview, Quezon City, Philippines. She studied and graduated her high school at St. Stephen’s High School.
It was in 2004 that she decided to audition in the second season of “Star STruck” where she bagged the First Princess award. She then appeared in the TV drama series ‘Now and Forever: Mukha,” opposite Star Struck stars Ryza Cenon, CJ Muere and Mike Tan. LJ had also displayed her tremendous skills in acting, dancing, and also singing. She had been given supporting roles in various drama series under GMA network.
LJ considered her villain role in “Zaido: Pulis Pangkalawakan,” as her biggest break in TV. She also played as one of the leading ladies of JC de Vera in “Babangon Ako’t Dudurugin Kita.” She also starred in “Una Kang Naging Akin,” where her acting skills excel and garnered positive reviews.
In December 2009, she posed as a cover girl in the local men’s magazine FHM, in 2010, she was one of the members of a trio they called SH3, with Ryza Cenon and Chynna Ortaleza where they performed on a Sunday variety show entitled “SOP Rules,” over GMA 7, until they disbanded because of some issues. In 2010, she received a Best Supporting Actress from Cinemalaya for a role she had portrayed in the indie film “The Leaving.”
LJ’s son by Paolo Avelino had already turned three, and she sometimes felt bad when leaving him to go to work. She is currently a regular cast of “Sunday All Stars.” and is busy preparing for an upcoming drama series which shall be airing soon over GMA 7. Although he is still a baby, she sees to it that she makes him understand why she had to work. So every time he sees her dressing up, Aki asks, ‘You going to work mommy?”
She also had high praises for Paolo who she admits is a good father to their son, always making up for the time lost. She is happy that Paolo does not forget his responsibilities as a father.
LJ is also attending workshops in preparation for the drama series that will be coming up very soon entitled ‘Prinsesa Ng Masa,” which she will be portraying an antagonist. She had already appeared in an indie film ‘Intoy Syokoy,” performing a very daring role. Her manager is now having some negotiations of a new indie movie she will be appearing and she reveals that the role requires a more mature performance. It would really depend if the story would be relevant enough for her to bare more skin.
