Isaiah Colleen Carvajal Mendoza was born on January 30, 1989, better known as I. C. Mendoza, is a popular Filipino TV host and personality. He is the son of a famous columnist and also TV host Dolly Anne Carvajal. IC’s grandmother was the former Queen of Intrigues, Inday Badiday, and his father is Ed Mendoza, a former basketball player, who is currently a pastor in New York City, USA. He totally came out as a gay way back 2005 and admitted it on the celebrity talk show “The Buzz.”
IC is hosting aTV5’s daily entertainment show entitled ‘Juicy!’ but did not really think that he could host a show. But after learning and earning positive reviews and encouragement from friends and viewers, he finally decided to do better and keep his job as a celebrity talk show host. He laughingly said that he had a future in showbiz, and that he will continue the legacy of her grandmother Inday Badiday. Inday Badiday hosted several talk shows such as ‘Nothing But The Truth,” “Would You Believe,” “See-True,” “Eye-To-Eye,” and “Inday, Heart-to-Heart.”
Inday Badiday was also popularly called Ate Luds by colleagues inthebusiness and after she died, her daughter Dolly Ann Carvajal continued what she started. Aside from writing in a major broadsheet, Dolly Ann is also a co-host in TV 5’s talk show “Paparazzi” with Cristy Fermin and also actress Ruffa Gutierrez. IC never dreamt that he can actually follow the footsteps of her grandmother and mother as a TV talk show host. He really wanted to be in advertising and coordinate and plan events, although he is still doing this now aside from being a host.
IC is also an actor, started young in movies such as “Ang Utol Kong Hoodlum,” “Darna,” “Shake, Rattle and Roll IV,” and “Astig,” before he took a break from acting. It was in 2006 that he staged a comeback, but this time as a TV host, co-hosting with Alex Gonzaga back then at “Juicy!” until he was retained as a mainstay on the said program. He took the opportunity and today, he continues to learn how to improve and get better every day.
He admitted that although his first love is acting, he finds hosting exciting and confident that he can do the job very well. He is already hosting the show for two years now, and hopefully this will continue as long as the audience still wants him and the show.
IC also reveals that he is into shopping almost every week, because he thinks it is a must, being a host and appearing almost every day on television. He is into blazers, slacks and polo. He also believes that buying branded bags is an investment. It is not really particular about the price as long as he likes the style, design or color, he buys it.
