Sharmaine Ruffa Rama Gutiérrez also known as Ruffa Gutierrez daughter of Eddie Gutierrez and Annabelle Rama was born on June 24, 1974 in Manila Philippines. Eldest sister of Elvis Gutierrez, Ritchie Paul, and Star studded twins Richard Gutierrez and Raymond Gutierrez. Also have 2 half-brothers from her father’s previous relationship Ton-ton Gutierrez and Ramon Christopher.
In her early career at the age of 13, she signed a four year contract in a major motion picture company Regal Films and already a star under German Moreno’s That’s Entertainment in 1986. She came up with her first movie Okey ka, fairy ko! In 1986, Regal shocker as Lila 1988 and Last two minutes 1990. She made sixteen films in her career. At an early age of 17, she represented the Philippines Elite model look in New York joining and winning Binibining Pilipinas World 1993 that leads to her gaining the second runner-up of Miss World 1993.
Apart from becoming a model-actress she hosted award winning talk show The Buzz together with Boy Abunda in 2007-2010. She is the first celebrity who made a website back in 1998. In fact she also founded an organization for homeless children Roof A Child Foundation Inc. together with Lily Y. Monteverde and president of GMA 7 Menardo R. Jimenez as the board of trustees.
In her social life she was secretly married to Richard Daloia January 19, 1999 but have a divorced in 2000. She remarried to Yilmaz Bektas in March 25, 2003 and has 2 children Lorin Gabriella and Venice but divorced again via a joint statement on May 8, 2007 at Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 107 and was issued a decision on March 11, 2010 which gave her sole custody of her daughters Lorin and Venice
