Franzen Macaraig Fajardo was born on April 18, 1982 in Sampaloc, Manila, Philippines. He is a Filipino actor, TV host and a former housemate in Pinoy Big Brother, a reality search show aired over ABS-CBN Network. Franzen had undergone a forced eviction on Day 91 in the reality contest. His being a housemate opened opportunities for him in the Philippine showbiz industry.
He was given the chance to appear in the movies “White Lady,” and ‘D’ Lucky Ones.” He also co-starred in “Maalaala Mo Kaya: Kurtina,” “Precious Hearts Romance Presents: Ang Lalaking Nagmahal Sa Akin,” “May Bukas Pa,” “Only You,” “Maria Flordeluna,” “Love Spell Presents:Wanted: Mr. Perfect,” ‘komiks: Inday Bote,” “Trip na Trip,” “Magandang Umaga, Pilipinas,” and of course in “Pinoy Big Brother” in 2005.
He also caught the media attention when he and his wife was involved in a publicized separation in 2007. It was he who filed a legal separation against her because he was already fed up of being a “Yes” man to his wife, Lovejoy. That was included in his petition for legal separation, aside from being allegedly being embarrassed by her slapping of Franzen in the presence of many people, and for verbally cursing him. There was even an instance that his wife had assaulted him with a knife which is a clear indication and murder attempt to his life.
Franzen also doubted his wife’s pregnancy stating that he will be the first one to know if he has indeed fathered her. He has kept these all as a secret, hoping that his wife will change for the better, now that he can provide for the family. But the matters got worst up to the point that their child was not allowed to see him anymore, and even the financial support was not accepted.
After the controversies however, he and his wife finally made amends and although they are not together, they had become friends and civil towards each other. He was already allowed to see his child with her. Well, all is well that ends well.
Back when he was a housemate, the reason why he was evicted forcibly is because he had been continually breaking Big Brother’s house rules. He had learned so much from the experience and swear he had learned to be more tactful and have self-control.
Franzen dreams to be a comedian someday and his inspirations were the late Dolphy and Long Mejia. Although he likes to try drama, he thinks can be effective in comedy. He used to work as a salesman for companies such as Bench and Human, and since he came from a poor family, he needs to work early in life and support his school as well, and contribute some of his earnings to his parents. Franzen had to do odd jobs too. He is just so thankful that the Lord has given him the opportunity and blessings for a better life and future.
Franzen is hopeful that he can get projects that will give him the opportunity to showcase his talent as a comedian. Meantime, he can be seen in various shows as a guest, and busy attending to his personal life.
