Bea Alonzo, as known in the Philippine television, is born Phylbert Angellie Ranollo Fagestrom on October 17, 1987. She is a Filipina actress and singer under the managing contract of ABS-CBN Star Magic contract talents. Her father is of a British roots and her mother is a Filipina. She finished her elementary studies in Jose Abad Santos Memorial School and attended The Fisher Valley College in Taguig.
Bea’s parents were separated since she was four and never had the chance to meet him up to this date. She grew up in 3 separate houses, her mom, her grandmother and her aunt which was difficult for the young Bea. This situation pushed her to isolate her own self from the rest, however made her stronger and more persistent to succeed. Bea Alonzo was discovered by talent scout Archie Ilagan. According to Archie, he saw the eagerness of the young Bea to join the show business. The first time Archie sets an eye on her, he knows that she has all the potential, the looks and the charm. She was introduced to ABS-CBN talent center and was immediately taken to join the Star Circle Batch 10 in the year 2000.
Bea joined a lot of contests in the past prior to being an actress. She said it was her grandmother’s dream for her to become a beauty queen. However, Bea has different set of dreams and that is to become an actress and indeed, she pursued her dream well and is very successful at it. Bea’s step to stardom skyrocketed when she was teamed up with John Lloyd Cruz in Kay Tagal Kitang Hinintay. Their team up with John Lloyd Cruz was a hit with the general viewing public. From that turning point in her career, things were never the same. The projects came pouring in year after year. She was recognized for her potential being a TV and film actress of her generation.
Among the films she appeared at are My First Romances, Now That I Have You where she was nominated ENPRESS Golden Screen Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role (Musical or Comedy), Dreamboy, All About Love, Pacquiao: The Movie, Close To You, One More Chance which was ranked 7 Highest-grossing Filipino film of all time and gathered several other nominations and awards including the GMMSF Box-Office Entertainment Award for Box-Office Queen in 2007, And I Love You So that won her Gawad PASADO Award for Best Actress, Miss You Like Crazy which was ranked 9 Highest-grossing Filipino film of all time and won her the GMMMF Box Office Entertainment Award for Film Actress of the Year and nominated for FAMAS Award for Best Actress in 2010, Sa ‘yo Lamang that won her Gawad PASADO Award for Best Actress also in 2010, The Mistress ranked 3rd Highest-grossing Filipino film of all time in 2012 and 24/7 in love.

John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo are the awardees for Box Office King and Queen for the romance drama film The Mistress.
Phylbert Angellie Ranollo Fagestrom who is more popularly known with her screen name Bea Alonzo is one of the Philippine’s most sought after actresses in the television and movie industry. Born from a Filipina mother and a British father who separated when she was 4 years old, Bea Alonzo found fame and fortune in her career as a movie actress and a singer. Born in October 17, 1987 she made her appearance on television drama show at the age of 15. This was in the TV drama Kay Tagal Kang Hinintay which was subsequently followed with more offers to take a role in soap operas in TV like Ikaw Ang Lahat sa Akin, Maging Sino Ka Man, and It Might Be You.
Star Records gave her a break to venture on a singing career when they launched her debut album The Real Me in 2008. She also made a major career leap when she took the lead role of a TV sitcom Yo Soy Betty LA Fea playing the character of Betty Pengson. Her sitcom was shown in a primetime slot that lasts for as long as eight months. Bea made several movies under Star Cinema the latest of which is the blockbuster movie The Mistress where she stars with John Lloyd Cruz. Both stars are groomed as on-screen partners and their chemistry seem to work well because their movie was recently a major hit in the Philippine cinema industry.
Bea considers herself as simple. She loves to wear jeans, sneakers and a top. She loves to pamper herself and goes to a spa for a body treat more frequently. She likes to eat junk foods and loves nature especially the beach. Her beauty regimen consists of placing an ice over her face after removing her makeup and use milk and honey in order to keep her skin healthy. She is a fan of Paulo Coelho who authors the books “Eleven Minutes” and “By The River Piedra I Sat Down and Wept” which are among her favorite books to read. It has been Bea’s dream to play the role of a serial killer and to portray the role as Virgin Mary.
Bea’s opportunity to make it big in the movie industry was when she was discovered in a beauty contest and was made to audition for ABS CBN talent scout. She made it and she went through some acting workshops that made her grow mature in her acting skills. She was launched by the ABS CBN Network as member of the Star Circle Batch 10. Bea found her acting stints very productive after receiving several awards and nominations to prestigious award giving bodies in the Philippines.
