Andrew James Estrella Arellano was born on January 16, 1980 and is a Filipino popular host and actor. He is famous for his screen name Drew Arellano, and is currently in a relationship with Iya Villana, a colleague and also a celebrity, host and VJ. Drew co-hosts in the daily morning show entitled “Unang Hirit,” and the “Coca-Cola’s Ride To Fame” aired over GMA Network. He also co-hosted “Balik-Bayan” in QTV, which was later changed to GMA News TV.
Drew had already received numerous awards as a talented host such as “Best Travel Host,” in his “Balikbayan” show over QTV in the 2009-2010 PMPC Star Awards for TV; Best Morning Show Hosts for the “Unang Hirit” at the 2008 PMPC Awards for TV among others.
Drew had that face of an angel but a body of the hunk, and is responsible for the guy who calls his girlfriend shampoo commercial. Before he joined showbiz, he was already into endorsements, and among them were the Sunsilk commercial and GSM Blue. He had finished his degree in Marketing Management from one of the prestigious universities in Manila, De La Salle University. Drew had worked in the US for a short period of six months, went back to Manila and had a contract with an advertising firm. He has J. Romero as his account manager then for almost a year.
He had also put up two businesses namely Cue Masters International, an import company that brings in cue sticks from abroad, and Cocoon a family owned business in Alexandra Condominium. He also works as a production assistant for his father, Attorney Antonio Arellano or Atty. Aga, a radio broadcaster who flies to Hong Kong to provide free legal advice to Overseas Filipino Workers.
Being an open minded man, he believes this character trait is a big advantage to his career as a model and an actor. He compared showbiz to advertising, although the rules are quite different. Drew is always open to challenges and is adaptable to any environment he gets into. He feels scared and somewhat excited for being in the showbiz industry, but will never shy away from any struggles or hardships he may encounter.
Drew is also an athletic guy and a heath buff individual. He always finds time to go to the gym almost every day. Aside from that, he plays basketball, swim, golf, billiards, and loves to engage into table tennis. Sports had taught him a lot he says, such as how to work harmoniously and discipline that can be applied to his daily life.
The greatest passion he considers in particular is advertising. Drew sees himself working behind the camera in the years to come, and he would like to put up his own advertising agency. In this regard, he along with his friends are planning to put up a small graphic design studio.
He had admired Eula Valdez, Angela Velez and Aubrey Miles among the Filipino actresses. But he still goes for simplicity and girls who can be a best friend to him. Drew is happy and content with his current girlfriend right now, and the relationship is still going strong amidst their busy schedules.
