Aljur Abrenica was born on March 24, 1990 is a popular Filipino actor. His real name is Aljur Mikael Guiang Abrenica, born and raised in Angeles City, Pampanga, Philippines. He studied at Don Bosco Academy and graduated his secondary education in the same school. He tried his luck and joined in a reality search entitled “Star Struck,” in 2006 where he emerged as the grand prize winner or “The Ultimate Hunk” Award. Aljur then signed a contract with Regal Films and appeared in the film “Zaido: Pulis Pangkalawakan,” “Dyesebel,” “Boys Next Door,” “Luna Mystica,” and “SOP Rules.” Aljur was also given the recognition as the Next Big Male Star by Yes Magazine.
Aljur was included in the cast of the afternoon drama series entitled “Dapat ka Bang Mahalin?,” and co-starred in the movie “Nandito Ako, Nagmamahal Sa Yo” under Regal Films. In 2009, he played a role in “All My Life,” and in 2010, he was included in “The Last Prince,” followed by “Ilumina,” “Machete” and “Amaya,” in the year 2011. He then was included in “Puso Ng Pasko: Artista Challenge,’ in December 2010 and “Spooky Nights Presents: The Ringtone,” and “Spooky Valentine Presents: Manibela,” in 2012.
Aljur plans on buying a five bedroom house in Quezon City, after his house was robbed last Holy Week. He was dreaming of buying a house for the family a long time ago and is gradually achieving it. He said his Dad is going to fix his bedroom and his brother Vin and make it bigger. He would like a walk-in closet and bath tubs.
Aljur can be seen on a variety show every Sunday in GMA entitled “Sunday All Stars.” He was assigned to be the leader of the group and wishes he can be the instrument for others to be noticed and discover they can still do more when pushed to their limits. They call their group the “Ligang I Like.” The group won on the show and was very overwhelmed by the results the judges gave them.
Aljur is doing great with his career and he has already come a long way from winning in “Star Struck.’ His popularity is increasing and he was even invited to appear in a show last July 2013 in Canada for a tour of Filipino communities, doing some shows with Kris Bernal. He is currently in a relationship with Kylie Padilla, a fellow GMA talent.
Kylie is a daughter of Action star Robin Padilla. She was already allowed to live independently together with another sister, and she was grateful to her dad for allowing her to decide for herself now. Aljur is mum about the relationship but agrees about whatever Kylie does. It seems that he wants to be a little privy about the relationship.
Aljur can be seen in several GMA shows and hopes he can still do more challenging roles in the future that can best describe him as an actor. He is thankful for GMA for giving him the opportunity to have an acting career and for taking good care of him as their talent.
