Mohan Gumatay, popularly known as Mo Twister, is a Filipino radio disc jockey, actor, TV host in Philippine entertainment. He was famous for his “Good Times” programs, which originally started with a Radio Show and eventually went into TV and Internet. Magic 89.9 management had issued a suspension order on May 9, 2012 for Mo Twister and his partners Tin Gamboa and Mia Bayuga for starting a false Twitter hash tag about Charice Pempengco, and a five-month suspension was also issued before him on June 29, 2013, on the grounds of discussing publicly a very sensitive topic on one of their aired programs over the same station. With him this time is co-host DJ Suzy. The two did not really specify the real reason for the suspension. DJ Sam Oh and Gibb will temporarily replace the two.
It was later explained by Mo himself that it was a sex-related topic that got them suspended. His supporters even posted an online petition addressed to the station to “at least lessen the suspension for “Good Times with Mo morning show,” and he was thankful for the support his fans had given him. Mo added that what makes it even painful is the fact that they were not given the chance to say goodbye on-air, after all what he had done with his show. He said it would have been nice to say bye to everyone.
His father who was sick of cancer and was confined at Cedar Sinai Medical Center already died last July 2013. Mo shared the anguish and the loneliness he had experienced in losing his father but was very grateful that he has already gone to a much better place. He also thanked those who had offered their prayers and condolences through his twitter account, and expressed his sentiments that his father did not get to see the house he bought for the family.
It was also recalled back then that he had a son by actress Bunny Paras, and that he had few relationships after that. The most controversial one was with Rhian Ramos, were rumors and videos of an abortion had taken place. There were also allegations that Rhian, her family and GMA management did not approve of the relationship, lest by her being pregnant by him. He was deeply hurt by the fact that he was the father of the unborn child, and that he did not approve of the said abortion. Mo went to the US after the controversial incidents and to heal himself of the pain. They had eventually broken up and he was not allowed to talk to Rhian or make any attempt to see or meet her again.
Mom had all his share of negative publicity and at times being judged by people around him. Because of his eloquence and tactless comments, he is usually perceived of having a bad breeding and manners. But as a person, he should also be given the chance to prove and defend himself. He is still human after all, and is not perfect.
