Isabel Rivas was born in 1961, and is a popular actress in the Philippine movie and television industry. She is the sister of actor and former congressman Dennis Roldan. Isabel started as a sexy star in the movie entitled “Uhaw Na Dagat.” In 1981, she starred in “Burgis,” in 1984 ‘Kung Mahawi Man Ang Ulap,” “Ang Bukas Ay Akin” in 1989, and in 1990, she played a role in “Barumbado.” She was also a cast in “Alyas Baby Face,” and “Dahil Mahal na Mahal Kita.”
In 2001, Isabel was included in the cast of “Recuerdo de Amor,” shown over ABS-CBN, opposite Diether Ocampo, Carmina Villaroel. It was then followed up by “Kahit Isang Saglit” with Jericho Rosales and Carmen Soo. In 1996, she received the Best Drama Actress by the Star Awards For Television in the TV series “Villa Quintana,” and she was also a nominee for a Best Actress in a Drama Series from the PMPC for the TV series “Recuerdo de Amor.”
She also appeared in the TV series “Guns and Roses,” with Robin Padilla and Bea Alonzo. Her role in this series is not a villain or antagonist this time, that’s why she considers it more challenging, since it’s way past her roles as being nasty all the time. It was her first time to appear in the TV series after some five years of hiatus.
Isabel was just busy developing her 20 hectare ‘Paradise Farm,” a property where she communes with nature and nursing animals such as sheep, cows, dogs and some 500 mango trees. She talks about what she does aside from acting where she focused on urban-farming and promoting eco-friendly farming to everyone. It is living and maintaining a healthy and ecologically friendly environment.
She is proud of her 25 or more sheeps that started only with a pair which Isabel had brought home from Australia. Isabel is somewhat attached to the animals and regards them as their pets. In time she says, when they get to be that plentiful she’ll think of disposing some of them business wise. She also had eight cows at the moment and maybe tripled by this time.
Isabel is busy attending to some of her business and his son, Richard Chua who had already graduated from a course on Consulate and Diplomatic Affairs from Ateneo de Manila University, who attends to his own business now. It was recalled that his son also tried his luck in showbiz by the name of Ritchie Rivas.
She was also affected by what her brother, Dennis has experienced, and is starting to write a book about that nightmare in her brother’s life. Hopefully she can finish it in tribute to Dennis Roldan.
Isabel is happy at what she is doing right now and enjoying her life with her son, on her 20 hectare paradise farm. She is still a picture of a celebrity, still very much prettier, and with her is an inner peace that one can see and feel when talking to her.
