Albert Martinez is a Filipino actor and director. Nicknamed “Little”, he was born on April 19, 1963 and is the eldest among the brood of three. He is the brother of actor William Martinez and Ronnie Martinez. Albert’s father, Bert Martinez, was also a character actor during the 1960’s. He considered fishing as his favorite hobby.
He eloped with his wife, actress Liezel Sumilang-Martinez (daughter of actor Romeo Vasquez and actress Amalia Fuentes), during the peak of his career and went to US. Liezel’s mom, was then against their relationship. Albert has three kids with wife Liezel namely Alyanna Martinez, Alfonso Martinez, and Alissa Martinez.
Albert Martinez is known to be one of Philippine Cinema’s versatile actors both in television and film. Aside from acting, Albert also tried to put his best in directing. His efforts paid off when he won Best Director at 59th FAMAS Awards for the movie, Rosario. The said film was one of the official entries to 2010’s Metro Manila Film Festival.

He was also a part of Rossana Roces’ movie, Kristina Moran: Babaeng Palaban which also starred Eric Quizon, Raymond Bagatsing, and Ai-Ai delas Alas.
Presently, Albert is one of the main casts of ABS-CBN’s TV series, Juan dela Cruz alongside Coco Martin, Zsazsa Padilla, and Erich Gonzales. With his great acting capability, he also starred in different TV series such as GMA Network’s Annaliza, Larawan, Ikaw Lamang Ang Mamahalin, Habang Kapiling Ka, Twin Hearts,and Maynila; ABS-CBN’s Sa Piling Mo together with Judy Ann Santos and Piolo Pascual, Komiks Presents: Da Adventures of Pedro Penduko, Maria Flordeluna, Princess Sarah, Patayin sa Sindak si Barbara, Palos, I Am KC: Yes Sir!, Kahit Isang Saglit, May Bukas Pa, Maalaala Mo Kaya: Gitara, Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo alongside Queen of All MediaKris Aquino, Kim Chui, Gerald Anderson, and Coco Martin, Maalaala Mo Kaya: Passbook, Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin, Green Rose, 100 Days To Heaven, Nasaan Ka Elisa, and Princess and I; and RPN 9/IBC’s May Bukas Pa.
