Filipino actor and fashion model Zanjoe Acuesta Marudo was born on July 23, 1982 in Tanauan City, Batangas. His father Zosimo Marudo, who works as a chef in New Jersey, is from Batangas and mom Rosanna Acuesta, a housewife is a native of Calauag, Quezon. Zanjoe is a former housemate of the popular TV reality show Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Edition. He was able to be part of the Big Four together with the actor John Pratts, Bianca Gonzales (whom he was romantically linked during their stay at the PBB house), and sexy actress Keanna Reeves. The third child in the brood of six, Zanjoe is a basketball varsity player from his elementary to high school days. His brother Zandro was the one who influenced him to play basketball. He was one of the players of San Sebastian College Staglets Team, playing in the NCAA. Aside from being a good basketball player, he also excels in badminton and wake boarding.

Zanjoe Marudo entered modeling after high school to earn money. He won First Runner-Up when he joined a modeling contest, Body Shots. He is also one of the 10 centerfold men in the “Cosmopolitan 69 Bachelors and 10 Centerfolds” supplement in the September 2006 issue of Philippine Cosmopolitan Magazine. He appears in a modeling stint being sponsored by Bench.

His joining the Pinoy Big Brother paved him the way to bigger opportunities. He was given the chance to be part of the following films where Zanjoe proved that he is also good in acting. Among the movies which he took part in are Death March, One More Try, 24/7 in Love, Kimmy Dora and the Temple of Kiyeme (as Kimmy’s love interest which was portrayed by Eugene Domingo), Shake Rattle and Roll 13, Wedding Tayo, Wedding Hindi, Sa ‘Yo Lamang (with Bea Alonzo, Christopher de Leon, and Lorna Tolentino), Cinco, Kimmy Dora, Altar, You Got Me!, and his latest movie Bromance: My Brother’s Romance together with Cristine Reyes where he played a double role.

He also had various television appearances and sitcoms. Among them are Annaliza, Precious Hearts Romances Presents: Hiyas, Showtime (as one of the judges), Banana Split (with Jayzon Gainza, John Pratts, Pooh, Angelica Panganiban, and Melai Cantiveros), Your Song:’Kim’, Precious Hearts Romances Presents: Kristine, Precious Hearts Romances Presents: Love Is Only In The Movies, Lovers in Paris, Florinda, The Wedding, Banana Split: Season 2, Kokey, Love Spell: Barbi-Cute, ASAP, Your Song:’Kasi Naman’, Your Song: ‘Nasaan Ka?’, Star Magic Presents: Sabihin Mo Lang, Star Magic Presents: The Sweetest Victory, Komiks: Alpha Omega Girl, Komiks: Fun House, Super Inggo, Super Inggo 1.5, PareKoy, Varga, Dyosa, I Am KC: Time’s Up, Love Spell: Wanted Mr. Perfect, Aalog-Alog, and his big break Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Edition. He was also given the privilege to star in ten different episodes of Maalaala Mo Kaya.

He was then linked to actress and TV host Mariel Rodriguez (who is now married to actor Robin Padilla) but later called off the relationship. Zanjoe is now the real life sweetheart of actress Bea Alonzo.
