Mark Gil is Raphael Joseph de Mesa Eigenmann, born on September 25, 1961 and a Filipino veteran dramatic actor in Philippine television and movie industry. He came from a family of veteran actors and actresses ad his parents are Eddie Mesa and Rosemarie Gil. His brother is Michael de Mesa and his sister is the great character actress Cherie Gil. Mark is a combination of Filipino, Spanish and Swiss descent. He has a son and a daughter from his previous wife Irene Celebre namely Gabby and Ira Eigenmann. He has also a son and daughter from another relationship, Bing Pimentel namely Sid Lucero and Max Eigenmann. Mark had also a daughter of actress Jaclyn Jose named Andi Eigenmann. Mark has been married to Maricar Jacinto for 18 years now of the famous Jacinto clan. The couple has one daughter named Stephanie Cheri Jacinto. The wedding took place on May 31, 1996.
In 2004, Mark had received his FAMAS Best Supporting Actor Award for the movie “Magnifico,” and in 2007, he won the Urian Best Actor Award from Urian for the movie “Rotunda” and in 1983, he got the Urian Best Supporting Actor in 1983 for the movie “Palipat-lipat, Papali-palit.”

Mark Gil is a supportive father to his children. He takes time attending premiere show of his children and is also affected especially when they encounter difficulties and struggles in their life. Andi Eigenmann has a series of ups and downs yet Mark always makes sure that he gives advices and always gives the much needed support that she needs.
Mark has also good relationships with the mothers of his children and guarantees he is always there to give them the father figure. The children are also equally proud of their father although they don’t stay together Mark ensures communication is open to everyone. The siblings are also close to one another.
Mark admits that he is very protective of her daughters or even granddaughters. He had 5 grandchildren now, he says. Andi is the most controversial among his children and advices her to take it easy for the moment and instead focus on her career. Mark is sensitive over issues concerning Andi, and was thankful that Andi had set her priorities to stay single at this point of her career, concentrate on taking care of her daughter and end any relationship that is not worth keeping.
Mark continues to be the best in his craft no matter what role is assigned to him. He doesn’t mind if the role is brief as long as he gives his best and gives the audience impact and leave an unforgettable memory of the role.
