María Carmina Muñiz Villaroel known in the show business as Carmina Villaroel or Mina to her family and friends was born in Quezon City on August 17, 1975. She is now a picture of a happy wife to husband, Zoren Legaspi. They are blessed with twins Cassandra and Maverick.
Carmina Villaroel started doing TV ads at age 10 for a famous fast food chain in the Philippines. It is in this advert that she was given a title Crush ng Bayan. Movie directors and critics noticed her lovely face and soon projects came swarming for Carmina year after year. Prior to her big break in the TV advert, little did people know that Carmina had appeared in a TV commercial for a chocolate drink being a background person or termed as “extra” with famous Filipina gymnast Bea Lucero.
Mina’s first appearance in films was at age 12 when Director Ishmael Bernal was looking for a little girl to play as little Maricel Soriano in the film Pinulot Ka Lang Sa Lupa. It was in this film that she was honed to become an actress. It was also in the same year that she was chosen for the role little Dyesebel for Alice Dixon’s introductory film. She also appeared in many Television shows; That’s Entertainment as one of German Moreno’s talents, a co-host forthe noon time showEat Bulaga, played the tomboyish role of Cathy in Palibhasa Lalake, Abangan And Susunod Na Kabanata, Tropang Trumpo, Ganyan Kita Kamahal, Halik sa Apoy, Oki Doki Doc, Esperanza, Recuerdo De Amor Oka Tokat and more.
Carmina Villaroel had been an active presenter in morning shows; Morning Girls of ABS-CBN, SiS of GMA in 2005 and Love ni Mister, Love ni Misis in 2007 with his now husband Zoren Legaspi. And also, she has a co-hosted with Janice de Belen in Showbiz Inside Report, an entertainment news programme. Presently her most recent project is with ABS-CBN being Nessa Francisco of May Isang Pangarap.
It was in 1994 when she was wedded to Rustom Padilla. Their marriage was annulled after the big revelation of Rustom Padilla’s real sexuality. In the later part, she lived in with Zoren Legaspi and had Twins in 2002. Carmina was taken by surprise as she was wedded on the spot to Zoren Legaspi on November 15, 2012. Their wedding could have been the best wedding event of the season. A non-traditional wedding, prepared by Zoren Legaspi, it was meant to surprise her in wedding proposal and to be swept to an on-the-spot wedding. Everything happened right on the same day.
