Maja SalvadorMaja Ross Andres born on October 5, 1988 is known by the name Maja Salvador in Philippine Television. She is one of the promising actresses of the generation today. Maja Salvador is a product of a family of actors and actresses. Her father Ross Rival is an actor from 1945 to 2007, her aunt Jobelle Salvador is known from the movie Bagets in 1984 and her uncle Philip Salvador who is among the prominent actors of Philippine television today. Not to mention, Leroy Salvador and her grandfather Luis “Lou” Salvador Sr. who made their own way in show business.

Her acting career started in 2003 when she was partnered with John Pratts in a TV series, It Might Be With You along with co-stars John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo. She also appeared in various television shows and TV series. Among them are ABS CBN’s top rating drama anthology, Maalaala Mo Kaya, musical variety show ASAP and other afternoon and prime time TV series like Love Spell, Komiks Presents and Your Song Presents.

Among the films she has appeared in include First Day High and Sukob in 2006, My Kuya’s Wedding and One More Chance in 2007, Kelly! Kelly! (Ang Hit na Musical) in 2008, Villa Estrella and Shake Rattle and Roll XI: Ang Diablo in 2009, Cinco: Mata and Father Jejemon in 2010, a film she produced, Thelma in 2011, and in 2012 My Cactus Heart and 24/7 in Love.

Maja Salvador has been given titles in Philippine Television; Horror Princess of Philippines Movies and Drama Sweatheart by the ABS CBN Kapamilya Network. She is also identified as the Dance Princess of the Philippines. With her passion for dance and music, She became part of a dance album released in 2007, ASAP Ultimate Dance 4 and ASAP Supah Dance.

With her efforts gained several awards; the most recent on the list is Gawad Urian’s Best Actress Award for the film Thelma and Top 18 of FHM Philippines’ 100 Sexiest Women. Among others include Special Award at Star Awards 2008, Google’s Most Searched Local Female Actresses, FAMAS German Moreno Youth Achievement Award, Breakthrough Performance by an Actress for the film Sukob, New Movie Actress of the Year, Most Promising Female Star of the Guillermo Mendoza Box-Office Entertainment Awards and Next Big Female Star of YES! Magazine Reader’s Choice Award in 2006.
