Stella Ruiz is the screen name of Stella Ruiz White. She is sometimes called Estella White. She was born in August 13 in Quezon City, Manila, Philippines. Stella was previously an international fashion model, actress and singer in the movie industry. She is also an entrepreneur and a concert producer. In 1995, she appeared in the action film entitled “Sambahin Mo Ang Katawan Ko.” This movie gave her the nomination as the “Best Newcomer” by the 1996 Star Awards. Her parents were Patricia Ruiz and Ernest Eugene White. She was discovered by fashion magnate Renee Salud and became a commercial model at a young age of 14. Stella studied and finished her high school at Trinity College of Quezon City known today as Trinity University of Asia. She was studying her college education in Mass Communication at an exclusive school when she decided to give international modeling a try. She went to Singapore, Malaysia and Hongkong pursue and achieve this dream. Stella became an image model of almost popular brands of clothing and accessories here and abroad namely Guess jeans, Coach, Red Bull, Rusty Lopez, Speedo, House of Sara Lee among others. Aside from being a model, Stella also joined the Miss Philippines beauty pageant in which she was one of the finalists, but later disqualified because of non-residency.
Her TV drama shows are “Rio del Mar” in GMA 7, “Ipaglaban Mo” in RPN 9, “Esperanza,” in ABS-CBN 2, “Sugo,” in GMA 7,and ”Magpakailanman,” in GMA 7. Aside from acting, she was also busy performing with her own band nationwide. She had released her own song “Cry Over You,” by Fermin Flores and appeared on MTV Asia, a carrier single of the album “Missing You.” Stella had also performed all over US, such as Times Square and New Jersey. She even became Democratic Committeewoman for Bergen, New Jersey.
Stella had married Philip ex-boyfriend of comedienne Gladys Guevara in a civil ceremony in Saddle Brook in New Jersey. Stella was just ready to face a new challenge in her life being a wife of Philip. He had proposed to Stella on December 25, 2008 when they were in Las Vegas by placing a white box with a ring above her breakfast pancakes. The ring was a family heirloom aged 100. That was his grandmother’s ring and his mother would want Stella to have it.
The church wedding took place at St. Peter the Apostle Church in Henderson, Nevada and her maid of honor was Samantha Lopez or better known as Gracia on the noontime show “Eat Bulaga.”Stella was very happy to find someone like his husband whom she considers to be the “Mr. Right.” Other movies where she appeared were “Room For Rent,’”Bitag,” “Kid Manalo” and “Resbak.”
Stella is living a quiet life now, aside from being busy with their personal business. She still returns to the Philippines to visit every now and then, but is happy about what’s going on with her family life. She is just so contented and fulfilled as a wife to Philip.
